At the cricket sitting behind a group of idiots, and they have started up "Who are ya!." Not impressed.

Blame the Hurricanes?

I can't find the article at the moment but Stuff reported on how a couple of the 'Canes players were wishing their crowds would do chants etc.

'Sif something like that can be instructed to their fans...

P.S. Show us your PAX!

Do keep us informed on more 'Nix chants that come up.

Is it true that there is a "Sea - Gull" chant or is that a rumour?

Things you've always wanted to know but were too embarrassed to ask.

#69 - what is the history behind the "Who are ya?" chant?

So you complain about the atmosphere at other sports being horrid and then when a few guys try and fix that (they are probably phoenix supporters) you give them sh*t?

not complaining, still good atmosphere at the cricket. It appears I have found the bottle throwing culprits as everytime something exciting happens a bottle ends up on the field.

Geez who cares. Not like we invented the chants, and we certainly dont own them. There has always been random weak chanting at the cricket, especially when we play aussie.

I reckon, lol.

We tried a few chants. The atmosphere is pretty sh*t at cricket at the best of times (don't get me wrong, I am a cricket fan from waaaaaaaaay back). You occasionally get something decent when you're playing England at a test match at the Basin, but the good times are few and far between.

Basically, whoever is complaining about people trying to start chants at the cricket needs to STFU.

We were getting some decent slow claps going in our section. But I'm firmly with the who cares side of the argument here. Any atmosphere is good atmosphere in my book. Would rather a few stolen chants than people settling down with a good book which is what it is like some times.

Oh... and someone behind me also stole the Fever Zone spew after 60 mins trick as well.

I'd've thought the chant from NZ cricket fans should've been "who are we"?

given the score and all....

Doesn't help when New Zealands top umpire lops your best batsman off with one of the worst decisions ever seen in international cricket.
