You lot know me enough by now that when somthing annoys me or pisses me off, I'm not afraid to mouth off about it. This is not one of those occassions.

Tonight it's my genuine pleasure to inform those who have not been to The Four Kings before (like me) about this afternoon.

Valentines Day, The wife and I hit Wellington to get my Nix Shirt name & number printed - You know, the Ex Knights now Nix away tops. As a treat, I surprised my wife by showing up at the Four Kings about 4ish. We sat at the balconey overlooking that reverse Bungy - Bugger ever going on that thing. My luck and the chair would break and I'd be hitting 2,000 feet at 200 miles an hour!

The Four Kings. An immaculate bar with plenty of room and plenty of screens. We were met by a nice lady whom could not be more helpful without being pushy or in our face. What time does the dinner menu kick in? 5ish we were told so for the next hour we sat there having a few non alcohol drinks - I'm driving. A brilliant balconey seat to watch people getting their Valentines etc. Our drinks were replaced and again with excellent attention and manners.

Come 5ish and two menus requested and delivered. I ordered the Lamb Roast on Pured Parsnip & broad Beans & Peas. The wife ordered the Pork Ribs and chips. Not a long wait, perhaps 10 - 15 minutes. 2 perfectly presented plates and we're into it. My wife's plate had 9 ribs (with meat on them unlike some other resturants) and very large chips. We tried each others meals as well as our own. This food is awesome. We will be going back and ordering more of the same very soon. The Roast was cooked perfectly, moist inside without being raw and crisp on the outside as if it had been sealed on a BBQ. The ribs had this spicey sauce that didn't ovrpower the flavour of the meat but did leave a pleasant tangy taste afterwards for a minute or three.

The prices on the menu from my own point of view were extremely reasonable if on the cheaper side. Quality food and real prices.

A relaxed atmsophere and brilliant service by those involved. The food was great and my first relaxed time for far too long. Even things such as the toilet facilities - immaculate, non smelly (Unlike McDonalds down on Lambton Quay). The wife and I are hooked, we will be going back for more. All I can say is that everyone go there at some stage soon and try it for yourself.

I'm not being paid for this. You know I'm happy to complain if I get sh*t service etc. I feel really great about praising The Four Kings, because the wife and I cetainly had a memorably great time and a pleasant relaxing time.

Thank you Four kings, you have given the wife and I something special on a special Valentines day. I cannot emphasise how much you helped in creating a near perfect atmsophere. I hope your business venture is highly successful. You can look forward to further visits from my wife and I.

Bloody Brilliant establishment!

Nice review, LG.

Haven't tried the Four Kings grub yet, but I can vouch for the quality of the beer!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Last Saturday I was at tennis all day, needed somewhere to rest up and watch the remainder of the cricket. The Four Kings was to be my saviour, Mac's on tap, and amazing Laz-e-Boys to rest my weary (little) bones on and a BIGARSED BOWL OF CHERIOS for $8! I truly was in heaven- and recommend the cherios and dipping sauce to anyone in need of a quick feed.

I'm going to be one of those next week...does this mean I can't check out buxom lasses anymore? Or just that I can't chat them up?
