before i became a chunky lass I took some pole dancing lessons. man it left way more bruises than boxing or inline hockey ever did. and it takes some serious upper body strength to hold yourself on a pole so strippers need more appreciation

Ive seen guys around Wellington practicing this.
It looks so sad.

Some are by themselves, some are in big groups.

I prefer watching the fails.

everyone's got to start somewhere and the guys who make it look good prob practise 24/7. plus pakour took off big quite a few years ago mostly in european tenements and immigrant enclaves - places kids dont usually have access to sports fields or gyms

Ive seen that russian Ninja one. Very cool

I wouldn't even dare try that kind of stuff.
Kneeing myself in the face and landing on my neck is not my idea of Practice Makes perfect.Stefan2010-03-16 22:16:30

Scene: Junior82 household - a few years on from now.

Jnr Jnr:  Dad.  Can I take up pakour?
Jnr82:  No son.  Here's $20.  Go and buy some solvents and a paper bag.

Jnrette: Dad.  Can I take up pole dancing?
Jnr82:  No my daughter.  Here, I've got this lovely burqa for you to try on.

lol you know that by the time juniorjuniorette is in her teens they reckon pole dance will be an olympic sport. it's mostly the American Strippers Association thats fighting it as they are worried gymnasts will take pole dancing over and there will be no places left for the big boobed

Parkour frustrates me as there were several YFers who were into Parkour before it was Parkour. Thi is back in the early 80s. We did the same stuff (not nearly as well) but just never had a name for it. It was just something we did. Ever recall seeing black scuff marks down the light standards along side the motorway??

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I remember the first year I moved to welly (early 90's) being caught by a cop on a ledge of the beehive with my fltmates while we tried to see if it was wide enough to skateboard. We got a nice request to move elsewhere accompanied with a grin and shake of the head

These days the world has gone too OSH and Security minded and urban street gymastics of any kind is just a ladder to arrest

Watching clips of David Belle and Sebastien Foucan blows by mind. Foucan's stunt at the beginning of Casino Royale, and anything Belle does, is bloody impressive.

Hell, I find training to bang out a few chin-ups hard enough.
