Getting movie tickets to premiers/early dates

Trying to get tickets to a movie premier for one of the Wellington cinemas before one of my mates moves to the U.S., so whats the key to it? Win them? Is there a good site to be subscribed to or what not?

Reading Cinemas usually sell tickets to a Wednesday night screening before the release on Thursday. Otherwise sign up to all the main radio station's email list, the tend to do large giveaways.
