Go Luna Rossa.  Having seen off Oracle they can now beat The Middle East Airlines team (Emirates) and then the so-called Swiss team.  But I'm confused; cant remember whose country each of these over priced boats is representing!  Has New Zealand got a team?

So go Luna Rossa!

Yachting is good shut up. Living out of the country has restored my patriotism haha, any sport in which nz can dominate ie have more than 60% of the sailors in the top 3 teams is pretty good to me. I hope they bring that cup back, its better than staying in a country that doesnt even own any salty water.

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

Hey they have salty water in switzerland,
Even if its only for Boiling their pasta in!
But Team New Zealand got beaten twice last night and they won both starts,
Better hope their new boats are closer matched.

New Zealand's 'love' for the America's Cup is perhaps the most delusional thing in all of sport.  It's actually worthy of further high-level study.  I blame Australia/1983 and the little brother syndrome.  It's so embarrassing it's shameful... Stevo2007-06-02 15:00:31

Well for those of us that wer only 2 years old at the time, the Americas Cup still represents a way of putting our country on the map, i guess its more of a case of little country syndrome in general. I have discovered since living here in Brazil how many times NZ is left off maps of the world be it in advertising or books or whatever. but so many times I have seen the page end somewhere in the tasman sea, a little demoralising.

Anyway for me the Americas Cup is a great source of pride that shows the proficiency of NZ sailors and ingenuity. Who cares who the sponsors are the people that a driving the boat are NZ icons and for that the people driving the other boast are NZ icons too ahahaha.

If that is shameful, (achieving what australia couldnt in a sport) then I dont know know...Its maybe a little sad.

Stevo you are lving in Seoul? My sister lives there. Do you get the same thing with maps missing NZ or is that just me?

Korea is always in the cente of the 'World Map' over here.  Thus NZ does ok.  Greenland gets a hard time though.

hahahahahaha yeah greenland has a rough time achieving much, but Denmark doesnt really advertise it much as a place to be do they. I saw a japanese guy that lived there hunting on tv, just lived there and shot birds all day that was his life, he was a rich business man turned greenland bird hunter...some people have all the fun huh

Feonix - and the other sponsers are from?        Hint:  Toyota.

Im sorry but I cannot accept Team NZ deserves national support.  Who do we support when Alingi take the water =  national hero Coutts or the Emirates/Toyota boys?

Rugby or Amercia's Cup, either way 98% of the worlds population couldn't give a toss about these minor sports .... all so boring but then again  " a tack to starboard is kinder exciting " Yeah right.
