I've yet to see anything justifying the hype.

The circles concept is brilliant. Still not perfectly integrated, particularly in terms of information a user receives on their stream, but great for sharing information with selected others.
That alone makes it far superior to fb. Not to mention its integration with the wider Google family. Once more users jump on it will be dominant (still it only took 16 days to get 10 million users).

I have now.
I still find Google+
How is the circles concept different from lists on Facebook?
Speaking of which, Facebook massively screwed up with the new chat. I've never been one to complain about changes to FB, but the new chat is abysmal. Show me tonnes of people who are offline and not everyone who is online, with no control over who appears in my list - yeah, great system dickheads.

Just noticed that the other day. It is horrendous - I have no idea what they were thinking!

At least they've fixed the fact that it's not permanently open on the side. One issue I had with that was when you opened a photo, the scroll bar down the side disappeared so I couldn't scroll down the page to see the comments. But surely you would rather see everyone who is online .

Are you serious? Have you ever tried to use fb's lists before? Utterly clunky and they have nowhere near the usability of G+ circles. G+ lets you choose exactly which circles (or individuals) you want to share with for every post you make, for example.

Yeah circles definitely >>>> lists which are horrid.
G+ also cleaner interface.
G+ will be great when it gains a critical mass of users. I predict the kids will stay on Fbook and the grown ups will slip over into G+ which will be an epic win.
G+ also needs to work out some equivalent to FB Pages.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

If G+ can stop people making groups like "I go out of my way to step on a crunchy looking leaf" then that would be more than enough to get me to switch.

I see no difference between circles and lists except for implementation. It's not obvious how to only show people on a list on your friends feed, post visibility isn't as good as G+'s, and Facebook chat is COMPLETELY buggered up now. If Facebook fixes those, I see no advantage to G+ other than "ooh new and shiny". But perhaps I'll see different once I actually have reason to use it.

You need an invite as it is still in beta mode.
Post your email on here and someone will sort you out.

But everything hinges on implementation Robb. Nothing on the interwebs is ever really "new".
Lists are just a facebook category for friends. They a are a c nt to use, and you don't have to use them at all.
Circles are a central feature of G+. You have to put people into circles and everything you do in G+ takes account of which circles you want to include or exclude from that action.
One is fundamental and one is incidental.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Fair enough. The impression I'm getting so far is that G+ is Facebook with lists done right (except for chat), and nothing else. Since I know how to use FB lists properly, there's no impetus for myself personally to use G+. Ah well, that may change in time.

IMHO anyway.

I will be interested to see Google's take on apps. Most apps in FB don't bring me much benefit, that is until CivWorld. I know that Football Manager have FMLive, but a FM app in FB or Google+ would be awesome.

I think G+ also has the potential to take away from twitter. The default 'Followers' circle suggests that Google certainly intend on people using G+ in this fashion and I can see how that would work. Arsenal2011-07-22 20:25:38

E-mail address? DM it to me on Twitter is probably easiest.
