Help please - how can I "cut" an All Whites video?

Hi everyone,
I have access to iMovie 09 and iMovie HD and have a Mac.
I'm interested in putting together a support video for the All Whites which would comprise of some of the highlights of the campaign so far and the supporters.
I see a lot of videos on Youtube doing this either for general football or supporting a specific nation.
I have access to iMovie 09 and iMovie HD and have a Mac.
I have a slow 2.0Ghz PC but have not downloaded/installed Movie Maker.
Could anyone help with regards where I could pull some videos/materials and give me some basic tips on how to cut something like this together?

Get something to rip any relevant videos off Youtube - Firefox has a fair few plugins designed to rip them to .flv files. If you have to, get something else to convert them to a file format suitable for whatever movie making software you end up using.
