So you're hoping for a draw this weekend???

I know, i'm conflicted. Well not really. The Canes to win this weekend, but the Reds to win next weekend and sneak in. Really wanted them to beat the Brumbies last weekend to make it more likely. So I guess I need the Warratahs, Crusaders and Brumbies to all drop games from here in.

Yeah, that would be good. A reds / canes final in Welly would be awesome but possibly a little optimistic... More likely a Bulls / Stormers *yawn*

Watched the game on Friday night and what a great comeback and result but at the end seriously, are these guys thick or was there no leadership left on the field.
You're playing a team who were in the top four at the start of play, you've got the bonus point for scoring 4 tries and a win is assured but surely you want to prevent the opposition from getting a bonus point.
Why then after the hooter has gone off and you have possession would you try and run it out instead of kicking it into touch, ultimately the Reds got the ball back and went hard out for the 4th try. Could have come back to bite had they got it and the extra point.

Was thinking that too, just a bit dumb I think.

Not looking good against the Tahs. Something like 85% of possession for them in first 30 mins. 18-6 down.

Wow, the canes really didn't show up last night

How did Hosea Gear miss out?simon_hampton2010-05-30 13:04:24

because hes rubbish, the question really is how did weepu get in?

No, I don't know if you are being sarcastic but Gear definitely isn't rubbish.

Agree with Weepu though, should have been Mathewson.

I thought Gear was a certainty. Can't understand the AB's selectors sometimes, always hugely controversial selections. TopLeft072010-05-30 17:11:38

Fuck this stupid game

I guess the theory behind Weepu may be that if Cruden is on, we need (at this point in his career) a goal kicker in another position, and I can't think of a single goalkicker in the squad other than Carter and Weepu.

First test of the year. Predictions? Think we'll do this but it'll be very tight.

Quite looking forward to this. Hope to see Cruden play, as I don't think he's up to it yet. Though can't see him coming on unless we're up comfortably.

We'll win by 26. Close first half, blow out second.

Will be a big thrashing now with the red card.

Dagg & Jane have looked good so far, as much as I dont like having to have Jane on the wing (I want him at fullback), I might just have to accept it so we can see both on the field at the same time.

after Cowan's first try, Centrebet was offering NZ -53.5 @ $1.90 in live betting, that might have been a steal lol, esp since its $1.08 now

How many points will we score? Im picking 60-70
Permalink Permalink
almost 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
anything less than 60 would be a disappointment, we still need to do the hard yards up front before spinning it wide tho.

Hope they give Cruden more than 10-15 mins at the end

I'm gonna go 50. Think it will slow down when the subs come on.

Dunno about win it. But they will make it look less like a thrashing.
