Front runner sent me this..

Football Boots, Do's and Don'ts

Boots should fit snugly. Do not have excessive room in the roe area as the boot will flex incorrectly. if the boot feels too tight, change the model, don't just go for a bigger size.

Always have a practice pair. It doesn't matter if you have spent $350 on a pair of boots, if they are used four times a week they cannot dry naturally and will therefore last a season at most. Have match boots and practice boots.

Care of boots, wash mud off, stuff with a paper, dry on the clothes line. DO not dry infront of a fire, cylinder, or in line of direct heat. When dry take out paper and use a dressing on the leather (beewax) NEVER USE GREASE BASED MATERIAL as this may cause the sole to separate. When dry, use polish over the top.

Do not use screw ins or studs on hard grounds. As they give you blisters. Use moulded studs for hard grounds
Remember to check the studs for tightness. If you do not tighten the studs then they will strip the thread. This is a problem that is easily avoided with care by you.

sh*t, I do almost all of the things I'm not meant to with mine! No wonder I'm a rubbish footballer.

I dried my boots by the fire for a few days last week.
Months of stretching and moulding the synthetic material to my feet undone in 2 days.
