Don't want to knock Rugby (but suppose I am), and just for info - I have a season pass for the rugby too....
I'm registered on the Hurricanes forum www.super14.com/forums.
However, there is a dearth of topics / feedback / banter.
Is this a sign that people are bored with rugby, or that rugby (in NZ at any rate) does not have any passion, or people who want to discuss anything on-line.
To illustrate

Is this THE hurricanes forum?
if so - where is everyone?
If not - what is THE forum....
Yellowfever.co.nz (Wellington Phoenix supporters) always has at least 20 - 30 active topics with quite a few people on-line at anyone time..

I had a look at the No. 8 forums and thought they were meant to be the home of NZ support and it was a ghost town.
The Silver Fern is the spot to talk Rugby karori.

I think most rugby fans spend their spare time rereading the laws of the game in an attmpt to understand rugby. Hence no time for forums.

it is now. back in '96-'97 it was much better. hardly any good southern hemisphere players were playing in europe, all the teams had quality players and the games were highly entertaining.
i put it down to rugby just turning pro; fitness/conditioning wasn't as advanced as now, defence patterns weren't as extreme and as patterned. the players in general weren't as fit and as structured as now so more tries could be scored and the games were much more open and freeflowing. it was this rather than the rules which made the games exciting.
i used to go to every hurricanes home game from palmy back then, was only 10-11 but watching cullen, umaga (when he was a winger), o'halleran, iremia, telea etc rip up other teams was magic. the cane sin 97 regularly notched up a lot of points and played great running rugby.. ahh the good old days.
