I am living in a football stadium

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Talk about living the dream (nearly).
 
In the weekend I moved into an apartment in the old Highbury stadium, with views overlooking the garden where the pitch used to be.  My address is the West Stand to get to my place I can walk through the main reception in the marble halls of the original East Stand, past the bust of Herbert Chapman, across the grass from the original pitch and into my place.
 
This could only be better if this was in Upton Park (with it being moved from the East End) or if they were still playing games at Highbury so I could sit on my couch and watch the games.

I can't begin to tell you how Jealous I am right now.

I need pictures. I saw it when it was being built but haven't seen the final results.

still got the tatoo on the forehead, but will not get to as many games anymore.  Kind of hoping that they make the play-off final.
 
Get to go back to Upton Park again this week, so every cloud pisses rain on your head (the way the team are playing at the moment).

frankie can you do Stefan a favour? Nick a few grass clippings so he can add them to his memorablia collection. Perhaps even sniff them at night before he goes to bed. He could even rent them out to Gunner fans to enjoy the same.

I don't know what to say really. If I were an Arse fan, it would break my heart. It feels just a little tacky looking at it. But I'm sure its actually uber awesome.

When Highbury was demolished they sold patches of the grass along with other bits and pieces from the stadium.
My family picked up a few chairs made from the clock end seats.
The grass didn't get passed customs strangely..

There are 2 security gates to get through before you get to my door, so the whole place is pretty safe.  That is the problem with London, every area has to contain council flats.   I lived in Chelsea for a bit a while ago and there were still some moody council estate not far away - obviously not as moody as some of the other council estates round the place, but still not great.  You cannot get away from crime here, but this place will be as safe as anywhere else I have lived.
 
As for the hideous comments, the places are actually quite lush.

I'm just messing. It's weird seeing Highbury looking like that though.
 
I used to hang around Finsbury Park quite a bit. Went to a lot of gigs at the Sir George Robey pub (later called The Powerhaus, now closed I think). It was a sh*thole and pretty rough but they had a lot of good bands there.
 
I also used to play a lot of indoor football at Arsenal's indoor training pitch which was in the back of the old South Stand. It was a huge artifical pitch, completely enclosed on all four sides with a massive high ceiling. You could play full 7 or 8 a side without getting in each others way. Long balls from the back and everything! It was great. I wonder if that's still there?
