Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Interesting website that is. Got to wonder about the margin of error for some of those though. The "World Spending on Illegal Drugs This Year(US$)" one especially. Because it's an illegal and thus underground business hard stats would be very hard to come by. I'm not saying I know better than those compiling these stats, but I wouldn't be surprised if the spending on illegal drugs was many billions more.
