Anyone been lookin at the ridiculous amount of cash in the IPL. McCullum (700k) ,Oram (675k) and Vettori (625k) are highly rated. Fleming and Styris not so, 350K and 175k respectively.
M.S. Dhoni US$1.5m!!
Brett Lee worth 900,000 US, what!!! 4 overs and limited batting, while Ponting 400,000 and Gilchrist 700,000.

Ponting only went for 400k cause he's not playing in all of the IPL due to Aussie commitments in Pakistan. But Symonds pulled out of their tour to Pakistan so that's why he went for 1.3m
All very exciting mind. Would love to see some of it.
Three for me, and two for them.

Not enitrely true. Bids are based on if they were available to play the whole time. Then the amount is reduced if they are only available for part of the time. i.e. the kiwi will only get about 25% of their price as they can only play for 10 out of 44 matches.

Cameron White would piss into the Black Caps... We could do with a number 5 or Sux that can score a few runs... and perhaps even bowl a bit lol

he cant bowl. his ODI bowling aver is 50.25 and his economy rate is 6.93. His batting is slightly better. Average= 22.42 with strike rate of 116. To me he is over valued.

Looking at the numbers - they're all over valued... how can anybody justify paying the figures we're seeing, for all of them... just shows how big the Indian market is... and how small we are in comparison

Isn't that pretty much what i said?
Anyway regardless of that, i think this goes to show that Twenty20 is the future of cricket. I mean this is big news stuff imo not to forget they're also battling with the rebel ICL i think after the success of the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa last year it's really taken off and i've read that they're planning on starting up another T20 tournament in the US.

Did Langer ever hit a sux for Aussie?
Or have a strike rate over 80?
The guy has done brilliantly and is an ideal test opener, as we all have seen... but his biggest strengths are in the chest and head, but that isn't much of a factor for batsmen/batters/hitters/woggers in 20/20...

it really is amazing the money on offer. shows how much of the stuff is floating around in india. good on the boys though, they all have talent and if this is how much it is worth then all the best to them.
talk that the aussies wont go to pakistan fullstop so the aussies all may play. symonds has always said he wouldnt go to pakistan so its not as if he saw how much money he could make and then pulled out

I wonder who'll dictate the wins, the players or the bookies?? John Campbell TV 3 could interview them but only if they've stolen some war medals.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Maybe its the whole India-Pakistan hating each other.
The aussie commentators were saying that Ponting went for a low price because of the whole monkey/cheating incident. And that Michael clarke withdrew himself from auction for the same reason.
