iSky

I noticed in the match fred that some people (C-Diddy) have issues with iSky. Since PMs have gone, I'll just post here.

I used to have issues with iSky, in that it tried to buffer every few seconds. I think I could get to maybe 2 minutes max before it gave up and buffered again.

This helped a lot: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?topicid=101428 . Basically you edit your hosts file (STFW if you don't know how to, there should be good resources out there) and tell your computer to point directly at iSky rather than doing DNS crud that slows it down.

Kind of throwing this off topic a bit but, my issue with iSky is live streaming works flawlessly (even if the quality of picture is pretty poor) but watching catch up shows just doesn't work. It can buffer for hours and not do anything. TVNZ and TV3/4 work without issue. I'm pretty sure it's not a browser issue I've tried with both Chrome and Firefox. Anyone else hat this issue? 

I think my issue is with hardware.

iSky doesn't want to ever work now on my Samsung TV (not 100% sure why) and my laptop is getting on towards 6 years old!

If you have enough RAM, it should run fine. Or your Internet could be laggy or something that only rears its ugly head when streaming or gaming.

I have previously enjoyed matches via the TV with wireless and LAN but the past few weeks this option has failed me.

Streaming via PC has always been shite so guessing I need more RAM. Will be investing in a shiny new laptop later this year so hopefully that solves one of the problems before next season

I have conducted some further research as to why iSky no longer works with my Samsung Smart TV and it would appear that the browser does not support the latest version on Flash player.
