Doull- "There's a phrase that comes into cricket these days- it's the way I play- rubbish, absolute rubbish. You play the situation"

Anderson worked hard only to get out...could have been a hundred out there for him today the way he was playing...Liking the look of him. If he can chip in the wickets and the runs we are definitely a better team for him.

Roscoe needs to keep this up. If he plays this way, while also picking the moments, you've gotta hope he can start to achieve his potential...

I turned over during the tea break and saw Brett Lee bodylining Piers Morgan. That brought a smile to my face.

That was good tv. Only I wish he got hit by all six and maybe a couple in the head. His comments about "courage" stem from Jonathan Trott going home and Piers saying he had a lack of it. He is a full blown fudge wit.

Fuck this stupid game

He's an attention seeker. Which means he'll be loving it sadly.

He has a broken wrist now so I hope it was worth it.

Good stuff - just a shame they gave him a helmet etc

Warne kissing his arse was cringe worthy. At least Healy ripped into him.

Three for me, and two for them.

Worse was to come from Bill Lawry after Lyon edges one through third slip for four - "He's a proper batsman this lad, not just a bunny"

Yeah everyone who is saying he was brave/courageous etc are just feeling sorry for him. It was just pure stupidity talking himself into that situation and he was bound by his words so had to follow through.

That was a pleasure to watch Mr Anderson. Just earned himself with that one innings a one million dollar IPL contract. Good boy and well deserved

Good to see Milne getting a bowl too. Having a bowler who can get into the upper 140s would be useful (although potentially more so in test matches than in shorter forms where pace can be a disadvantage cos edges fly for 6 etc)

Milne's averages are pretty, well, average at domestic level, and god-awful at interntaional level, we need to send him down to CD for a few seasons so he can actually get some wickets and performances under his belt.

Fair call. I'm just smitten by sheer pace.

By the way, am I the only one who reckons we should treat Anderson's record as the fastest T20 ton of all time? Spellbinding knock but huge advantage to be had over all the players who had a different mindset over 50 overs.

Obviously it can't happen, what I think they will do is semi-asterisk Anderson's knock as the fastest ODI ton of all time, while Afridi's will be the fastest 50 over ton.

Lack of patriotism on my part.

The commentators called it the "fastest international hundred of all time" - I think that's the best way to describe it!

True!
And yeah topleft, I can't think of too many other world records we hold, except for the one which can't be spoken about...

Astle's double-ton is still the fastest in tests isn't it?

It is! Good, because that remains my favourite innings of all time. I thought Sehwag had passed him but no, he has the next three on the list. Hopefully David Warner or some aussie boofhead doesn't break it anytime soon.

Great knock, just incredible. I remember an injured Cairns coming out to help him at no11

Astle would have been worth a mint in the IPL. Even his dibbly dobbly bowling would have been useful

Nah it was the other way round - Gilchrist held it for about a week then Astle smashed it by 50-odd balls IIRC
