And the Indians have taken a couple of quick wickets in the other game. Good times!

He has to back it up and score 195 on a consistent basis though. Otherwise people like JV will always have a reason to bag him.

Three for me, and two for them.

Cricinfo's stats article on Baz is pretty interesting - I think this one stands out: 33 sixes in test cricket in a year - the next best is 22

A lot of bounce and turn for Craig. Too much, unfortunately...

How many runs does Williamson need to get 1000 in this calendar year?

21 required with 8 wickets in hand...feeling safe now.

Good win. Fine all round performance, although I think there's still a big question mark over Rutherford.

Williamson will need just under 100 I believe with the runs he got today. Basing that on guess work and memory of TV graphics from day one. Great performance from the BCs, ruthless, patient and always seem to have a plan A, B, C & D.

Channel 9's commentary has got worse over the years. Jeremy Wells, Leigh Hart etc need to do their alternative commentary for Aussie games as well

We should employ Billy Birmingham to do our commentaries,  at least they would be colourful.

I'm gonna get a match pass for the test at the Basin.

Planning on taking up station on the top of the grass bank at square leg/cover on the Vic Tunnel side under the pohutukawa trees.

Maybe we could create a cluster of yellow and black if anyone else fancies a few days in the sun on fold out chairs with wide brimmed hats?

That pitch for two days out is wickedly green. You wouldn't know it was one unless the roller was on it. Short of burning it, I see a truck load of wickets on the first two days

From memory the Basin over the last few years has looked very green leading into every test and has produced a pretty good batting surface.  I do agree however that if I were an opener I would be very grumpy if my captain didn't do me a favour and win the toss!

I hope someone has been watching the Big Bash. Hobart set 209 to win and get it with 6 wickets and an over remaining. Cracker of a game!

Bit of moisture around this morning too - definitely a big advantage to win this toss
