I haven't had a chance to listen to the ACC but have they very much followed the test-match sofa route? Every player has a jingle etc?

They seam to have only just started with the songs. Most players have nick names relating to animals and 'little known "facts"' which are generally outrageous and obviously made up but it's all in the delivery. These blokes are funny

Another good win today. They really need to sort out their running between the wickets though.
Just putting it out there... Its McCullum turning into one of our best Captains? The transformation in the team over the last couple of years is huge. Come to think of it who would be our best Captain? Fleming, Vettori, Crowe, Coney, Howarth, JR Reid I'm guessing would be the short list.

Onslow CC win the Ewen Chatfield Trophy beating local rivals Johnsonville CC. First top flight silverware in 22 years! Well done lads!

Vetorri wouldn't be on my list. Incredibly negative defensive captain.

Yep, one of the things I've liked the most about McCullum's captaincy is the confidence and positive intent he seems to have inspired into the team. You really feel like the team is going out there with a plan to try and win every game, and the belief that they can do it.

Fleming would still be my #1 though.

Fleming is the greatest captain in the history of the game. If he was English they would not have gone 18 years without an Ashes series win between 87 and 05 that's for sure.

Will never get the recognition he deserves though as he didn't play for one of the "Big 3".

Three for me, and two for them.

Whaleoil + Jesse Ryder...and there we have it.

Don't really disagree with that, but despite being a great captain, I'm not sure he would have made it into the Aus test sides of the 90/00s as a batsman, at least on a regular basis. Would probably have been in the England side though.

There is traction in that statement. I'm not a fan but can't deny that. I would have thought it would have been Graeme Smith?

I feel like the Aussie team are one little spark away from internal combustion. There is something simmering at Cricket Australia, just can't put my finger on it.

Well across the ditch apparently fans are saying they don't need Michael Clarke anymore and they should just keep Steve Smith as captain. Clarke is saying he wants back in as captain when he's fit. Shark storm brewing IMO. Taylor/McCullum debacle Aus edition possibly.

As long as Clarke is not involved, they will be fine. You have to ask why you would get into the commentary box against your mates. That's how to win friends and influence people right there.

Yeah I couldn't get my head around that either but from what I've gathered Clarke always puts #1 ahead of everyone and everything else. Agree the best thing they can do is move on from him but I hope they don't for that reason

Heard Warnie harping on about Clarke being the best international captain in cricket. Not sure how you could say that about a guy who only captains in one form of the game, who's team are feral and play to and over the edge of decency at times and who can;t get along with his employers.

I might be unpopular for suggesting this but I feel that had it not been for the Hughes incident, he'd have been out the door. He was obviously distressed and upset by the event but it was also a superbly timed piece of marketing for brand CLARKE23 that he was all over like an expensive Armani suit and Ray Bans.

There was plenty of quiet, genuine grief and tribute (Steve Smith is an example) but Clarke (and Warner to a degree) really got their mileage out of tragic circumstances.

Taylor/McCullum was a huge mess despite them both being mature, reserved (off the pitch at least), and generally decent people. Can't imagine the kind of clusterfudge that will turn in to if someone like Clarke is involved.

I don't completely disagree you but it's possible that the media were all over Clarke and Warner more than others due to the fact they were his closest mates in the Aus team. In saying that I can't get over how much Clarke and co have contradicted what he said in the eulogy since. Short memory or words written by someone else?

Also Warne is mates with Clarke so he's going to say that regardless. I'm always careful to think about what Warnes intentions are when he speaks out. He usually has some sort of hidden agenda

Have removed this comment. Don't think it added anything and didn't really need to be said. Apologies.
