Malinga's in-swinger yorker is right up there with Warney's 93-95 flipper in terms of playability...not a clue...

Made a game out of that chase!

Why are Australian cricketers such animals?

Come on Australia! (But not by too much)

Just occurred to me how unfair this situation is. Aus will bat knowing how many overs they have to get the runs in to beat us on run rate. They will treat it like a T20 or whatever and get the runs, or get all out trying. Either way we don't go through.

Our best hope here is that they get really close and fail on the last ball with a wicket still in hand, and then score the winning runs just after that.

So they didn't get out inside the 29 overs, but they aren't likely to get a 56 run partnership for the 9th wicket.

Now I think they are just trying to get our hopes up.

What a stupid format. Happened as I expected. That really is a huge disadvantage for us to play our last game before they did.

Was the washout that got us in this situation though. If we had have won or lost that game, it wouldn't have come done to Aussie's run rate. Maybe Sri Lanka's instead haha. Stupid format :)

Yep, a reserve day would have been nice.

You effectively need to win 2 out of 3 games, the other thing that washout did was take away a game for us to reach 2 wins - so we needed to win 2/2 instead of 2/3.

Mickey Mouse comp.

Yeah the lack of a reserve day screwed both us and Aussie out of a qualifying chance. We got one less game to get the needed points, makes it pretty much impossible.

I just find it ridiculous that the lack of reserve days is for TV. If that is the case how can the Broadcaster think it is better to have a game abandoned, than have two games on one day? I can understand them wanting only one game per day, but not the lack of reserve days. Hell even add an extra day after the pool games, and make that the reserve day? So if you have a game abandoned it will be played that day, then it wouldn't clash with another game either.

Not sure we can have too many complaints, realistically we played one good innings in the entire tournament. That might have a bit to do with us going home, rather than the rain.

Thought we bowled well throughout, all 3 games. Shat on ourselves by grassing catches against England.

Epic last wicket stand here.  He might be an Oz, but I'm almost rooting for this youngster...he certainly won't be a No.11 for much longer....

Madness at Trent Bridge! And now McGrath's 61 against us isn't the highest Aussie score batting last. Bonus! 117/9 and a first inning lead, classic.
