Hopefully we can get 20 for the last wicket and push it over the 400 run lead mark.  We are still in the prime position here.

I would say India are in the box seat now and will win. If you don't enforce the follow on in that situation you are a fool. 5 bowlers, williamson can also deliver some overs, just before lunch, 300 ahead, the side down for the count. Morons

Auckland will rise once more

Back at ya vader re football chat. Regularly wrong but no one can be bothered debating with you because you just give it death and it just goes in circles. Boring

Fuck this stupid game

Given that the list below is the number of successful 400+ run chases in the history of test cricket, it is a bit pessimistic to think India are in the box seat, but they do have a chance.
West Indies 418/7 128.5 Australia Antigua May 2003
South Africa 414/4 119.2 Australia Perth Dec 2008
India 406/4 147.0 West Indies Trinidad Apr 1976
Australia 404/3 114.1 England Leeds Jul 1948

The highest successful run chase in NZ is 348

I am aware of the history, but I stand by my previous comment. Let's see what the score is this time tomorrow.

We're talking about cricket here vader. McCullum is more than just a batsmen to this side.

Well if it was a captain, he'd have enforced the follow on so obviously not. We rarely bat well in our 2nd bat, our bowlers have their tails up, 300+ in the bank and they can't bat on grass. THat was an extremely poor choice and it's not the first time this moron has not enforced the follow on. He is not Steve Waugh, and we are not Australaia.
Remember McCullum getting called a moron after this one as well.
If our bowlers had their tails up and they can't bat on grass how come they're 87/1? Nothing to do with the bowlers not being fresh eh?

This is why I love Test Cricket, the ebb and flow.  50/50 at the moment. If India get through to Lunch 1 or 2 down, then game on. Looking forward to seeing Pujara bat, Rohit Sharma is in good form as well.  Ideal outcome Pujara scores a century and NZ win......this will be a cracking game!!

Went along today. Shami and Khan were just on fire today, so were India's fielders. Sometimes you just have to give the opposition credit. India have all the momentum right now though, we will need a breakthrough early tomorrow or it will start looking quite bad.

Three for me, and two for them.

The difference there was he enforced the follow on and we won. Perhaps our bowlers didn't have their head up after watching that collapse and actually having to bat and concentRate in a very short space of time? The coach deserves a rocket if we lose this one.

You need to look at it a bit closer. Hint: the target was 112.

JV if they can't bat on "grass" what difference does it matter if they follow on or not?

Your argument seems to be this:

Black Caps win: Opposition is shark

Black Caps lose: Black Caps are shark

Three for me, and two for them.

Perhaps, but then if you believe in your position, you will support it until someone presents a better one and changes your mind. Thats what I want. If I am so wrong then someone present conversation that holds better view points. I prefer people get cerebral than 'you're just a sheet carnt'

This will set NZ test cricket back 8 years, well, at least 3.  There's been some shockers I know, but this is really shocking.  And hard to stomach.

Sorry but never understood things like this. History is important but has no context to the two teams playing right now, the pitch, the conditions, the momentum either side holds, etc....

Anyway we need a wicket or two fast or this is as good as gone.

Three for me, and two for them.

The context is that it shows historically how difficult a challenge is.  Obviously conditions always change, circumstances are different, but it is a very difficult thing to do.
