I've only supported them since 96.

Three for me, and two for them.

Also, f**k TWO MATCH TEST SERIES

so so soooooooooo this.

3, 4 or 5 and this sh*t gets real fun and interesting
Or we just get rolled 4-1

Still interesting. I wouldn't be believing we'd get rolled 4-1 and it would be great to watch Taylor, Williamson, Ryder, McCullum, Guptil with the potential of batting in better conditions. So would be dead keen. With Vettori to come back at 1-1 in a 3 test or more series it would be a fantastically anticipated game. As it is for me anticlimax. Want to see more of this, not f*n Zimbabwe. Even if we lose, it is worth it to go up against the Aussies.

But, if we had lost, that bloody DRS..... no way that was outside leg. Tim would have been the hero and we wouldn't have had that drama. But it was worth it in the end

the new underarm eh? Often been suspicious of the new technology...

Ch-9 might have actually got some ratings out of it.

Half-serious question: Would we have won this match with Vettori playing? It's not a sure thing, right?

Possibly, who knows. Boult did very little bowling in the second innings, and none at all on day 4. Vetorri may well have added a lot more runs, giving us larger leads in both innings.

Also, Warne (I think it was) always said if the ball seams, it will spin, especially if the pitch is a bit soft. Plus with the ball swinging, I'm sure Vetorri's flight and drift would be effective, plus his very good arm ball.aitkenmike2011-12-13 13:09:42

Also, Chris Martin's 2 not out and resistance, in turn resulting in Boult's 21, was really valuable in the end. What a quality batsman

Repost in case it got lost in amongst the test match fever.

Good to see NZ Cricket have listened to the critics from last years home test series. Have just got an email from ticketek about prices for this years series, and the prices for the SA test at Seddon Park are $15 for a day, and a 5 day pass for $45.

Absolutely brilliant. Much more realistic. I hope we get a good turnout.

Boult was impressive in this game though. I thought his first innings spell was important, as Martin and Southee had lost their zip.

Gold.

When the things looked really bleak on Day 1 of the test, I posted that my solace was that we'd just ruined Hughes' career. And then it got so, so much better.

Does anyone know if Sky are broadcasting the full India v Aussie series? Because we have f all on here until that first Zimmers game (26 Jan) apart from HRV cup and I know how the majority feel about that.

PS Clarke getting shredded on twitter because he didn't acknowledge the black caps for their win in his post match speech haha.

Fuck this stupid game

TV3 was good tonight - but with mistakes: we beat OZ at home in tests in 86 (in AKL), in Wellington '90, and AKL '93.

HRV Cup starts today. The worst of the 3 formats, but the most important, so lets go Knights! Using our no-import, no big-hitters tactic, yet the TAB still reckons we are faves, as they do every year

Qualifying for Champs League = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I forgot how frustrating it is to watch Wellington play cricket. (And I grew up on losing finals in the 90's!)

^Looks about right to me (maybe...(just a maybe) Geoff Howarth in for Feming as captain?)

And some of the worst:

Rod Latham - not a terrible bat I spose - but certainly not a good one either.  Not exactly 'mobile' in the field.  Without doubt the slowest medium pacer of all time (spine tingling shuddering stuff whenever watching him bowl).
Richard Reid - Could hit it a mile.  Much less mobile than Latham in the field.
Ken Rutherford (c) - for the LOLS.  Could make the most beautiful 15s ever.  Always huge LOL whenever Ian Chappell called him a "gr8 captain".
Robert Kennedy - first ODI over took something like 13 balls to complete.  Surreal.
Heath Davis - those were dresperate times.
Richard De Groen -  Certainly had a 'fast bowler I'm gonna knock your block off attitude'.  But when your 'quicker one' clocks in at 125km - it was all kind of silly.  Chris Martin-esque with the bat.
Willie Watson - See above - but without the attitude.

Geoff Howarth (coach) - for team unity and LOLS.  Mark Greatbatch as his assistant.

At least you no longer have Anthony Stuart. And yeah, most important as you get waaay more money than by winning the Plunket Shield or Ford Trophy.

agree and aussie have a big cricketing history so hopefully football can get big passionate crowds one day but it will take awhile.
