Some punk had a go at me for a mistake i made, so i responded with:

"well i guess youre perfect then mate. never give the ball away, never misplace a pass, never mistime a tackle, never hit a shot off target. perfect. thats why youre still at birko right?"

Mug.

Did you chase after him and say that?

I only get time to talk sh*t during corners and free kicks. The rest of the time its f**k off or something alone those lines.

Just get a bit sick at lippy outfielders having a pop at us keepers for anything under the sun. So instead of giving the ball to feet (or trying to at least) next time i'll smash it downfield and you can go on a little run ya mug.

/rant over.

I like lippy outfielders.
They are easy targets for me.

I think I called some long blonde haired guy Missy and Honey when I had a go at him. It really put him off.

Never got into trash talking tbh. They love it over here, it's in their genes. The way I figured it was if you were trying to get on my nerves then your mind was off the game.

We went on to win 5-1.
Plenty of trash talk and one of our players got a dislocated knee in a tackle.

Head. still. in. game.

I'll just say.. Ive heard people say that something like that happening can affect the teams mentality.
It didn't do anything for us as far as Im aware.
Or maybe it was waiting 30 mins for the ambo.Stefan2010-04-06 22:25:09

I love trash talk, I always seem to respond with my best moments on the field.
You know we belong together...

I remember one game of cricket I was playing were the opposition slip fielder was giving my batting partner sh*t. He'd already dropped my partner twice an over or 2 before hand so I told him that perhaps he should learn to catch before he learns to sledge. He tells me to f**k off and says I couldn't do any better. Next ball he drops me. I just stood there smiling at him and he looked like he was going to punch someone.

Then in there turn, after we'd spent the better part of 25 overs in the first innings giving each other sh*t (22 off 73 balls - One of my many phenomenally slow One Day innings) I ran him out with what is probably the best piece of fielding I've ever done. As you could imagine the send off our team gave him was rather amusing.

As a side note, my 22 off 73 won us the game... The difference was 15 in the end!

Cricket is great for it, cos you're standing out there all day.

Good reply, btw, Buffy.

It wasn't trash talking. It was standing up for myself against a thick gobsh*te.
