Lawn Bowls

Here is a review of our club from a social bowler:

All of those can be done at bowls too.

Evening social bowls league is on in November at Mt Vic Bowls Club. I'm in charge, so it's obviously awesome.

Get a team of four together, work colleagues, friends or whoever. Well, maybe not a full Yellow Fever team, as I'm not sure they'd be up to the physical challenge of it. Though, would probably do well on the bbq and bar.

Anyway, details here. Let me know if you're keen.

Will there be blowys this year?

Possibly. Teams of females get half price entry if they agree to give blowys to the team that comes out in the 'lucky blowys draw' each week.

LOL. That's unfortunate. 

But anyway...is be keen,the problem is may end up having to work on any given Tuesday so couldn't guarantee I'd always be available. 

If you get a 'squad' of 5 or 6 then you got reserves if people are unavailable... or.... preferably, drinks carriers.

I'm keen... though will pass on the Gin.

Surge / I <3 Nix - reckon you could get a couple of others together, to get a team of 4, and maybe Tegal will be around some nights too... A Yellow Fever team would be good Nix advertising !

Got at least 24 teams which is good as - including a team of nurses entered last week....

I could be keen to join a YF team. I've always wanted to try lawn bowls.

Do we have to register today or can we do it later next week? I <3 Nix and I are keen to start a YF team.

I'll join the team and turn up on Wednesdays that I'm not working. If there are enough players when I'm able to turn up,can always be a drinks runner or something! Would know over a week in advance if I couldn't make it either way,so plenty of time to find a replacement. 

Only the first night is a Wednesday, the rest are on Tuesdays. Do you work Tuesdays?

It's random,depends if and when they need me etc. I'd know 11 days in advance if I can make it. Annoyingly for the first week I have Tuesday off,but not the Wednesday haha. 

If can confirm a team this week would be nice for me, but I'll take entries up to Monday/Tuesday I guess. The more the merrier, late entries just mean late spreadsheet changes for me, but I can handle!

But let me know if you get the numbers. I can guarantee you a free jug if you all turn up in Phoenix tops! And chant! (no dives allowed on the bowls green though, we aren't Adelaide).

Yea, as Patrick said, first one on a Wednesday (to avoid Melbourne Cup clash), then rest on Tuesdays.

Subs are fine from week to week. Hope you don't have Ricki making the subs though? haha.

So, I thought it was Wednesday's throughout.  Tuesdays poss poses a problem as I am committed to running.

Fuck lawn bowls, I am joining a (ten pin) bowling team which will either be called "three fingered fun" or "Stephen Hawkings treadmill" (stupidly the team has let me create the team name and design the shirts).
