LEAST Favourite Rock Band

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Saw a gap in the market and jumped right in:

In no particular order:

Dire Straits
White Stripes
U2

to name but three. Let the battle commence!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ooooh i'll pretend you didn't list those bands Jag.

Not many i hate, but:

Panic at the Disco
Die Die Die
8 Foot Sativa
Slipknot

All really get up my nose.

Three for me, and two for them.

Simple Plan and Good Charlotte aren't exactly rock I know, but I can't stand them.

I know I will be pretty unpopular for saying this, but I find Audioslave quite boring as well.

Doesn't it just annoy you how so many people think they are hardcore bandits because they listen to Slipknot?  So frustrating!

No not really. Just don't like the band. And don't know anyone who does.

Three for me, and two for them.

You and I are on the same wavelength Jagster.
I've never "got" the White Stripes. I should like them, I was working in a bar in Ak that my mate owned while studying and they played at the bar. I sat down afterwards with Jack White and the promoter, who is an old friend of mine had a yarn about music. He was quite a decent guy but the music? Just doesn't do it for me. When they got really big a year or so later I had to keep asking myself "Why? How?".

Rock bands I hate;

Queen (no, really)
The Eagles
Coldplay

and all soft-rock sh*t like Bread and Dr f**king Hook.
Oh, and that Jamiroquai. "the Twat In The Hat".

Being a student of all things Uk77 there are a couple of bands from that movement that I just don't like at all. Siouxsie and the Banshees, Ian Dury and the Blockheads. Shame, I quite fancy Siouxsie, but only with the mute button on.

Nah, nah, nah. The Offspring are damned good. forget Americana, an attempt to make money that their career has just about recovered from, Ixnay On The Hombre is a brilliant album.
The others you mention all sit happily on my crapometer too.

Slipknot, Korn and Mundayne = Worst crap ever. Period.

Yeah, a lot of those late nineties pseudo metal bands, like Korn and Tool are a load of wank. Slipknot are just theatre, taking Kiss a couple of stages further but without the music to back them up. Nice, convenient, packaged rebellion a la Marilyn Manson and their ilk. "Buy our t-shirt and your parents will be appalled". I see young kids in Slipknot shirts and I think "you gullible little bastard".

Any christian rock. The two don't mix, can't mix.

I'll tell you what's worse, any christian punk. Punk was all about thinking for yourself, and organised religion is the antithesis of that. "Toe the line, believe in this because we say it's right. don't question, it just is." Bands like MxPx have me shaking my head in disbelief.

i agree about the white stripes, that is just not good music.

based on the boom in the favourite band thread,  this could be a very rapidly expanding thread..

Scotty, Wumbo, play nice.

Incidentally, Foo Fighters don't make either thread for me... not sure there is a lot of difference between the first album and the most recent... not sure they do enough to engage me.

Great live though.

1) Let me fix your grammar (changes are highlighted) "I am using correct grammar and I have got a good excuse, ok mate. lol."

2) Yup, it is a great quote. Now click the link

3) This is getting pointless fast. Lets get back to hating on bands.

Limp Bizkit. Now there's a band that used to make me laugh my arse off! So hilariously bad and yet they sold truckloads of product. How? Why?

Another band I loathe is 10cc. Flaccid whiteboy reggae and warm-mucus ballads. Ugh, even just thinking about THAT song ("Big boys don't cry, big boys don't cry") brings the gorge into the back of my throat. Curse them.

I question my faith and what the bible says and happily go along to church...but then I'm too much of a free-thinker to let any facist get me down!

I agree with whoever said U2, how f**king boring can a band get?
Fratellis
Kooks
Basically all that british pop-rock that somehow gets called 'indie' by the music press despite their major label sounds.

Foo Fighters: would never have got anywhere without the presence of an ex Nirvana member, even though he played drums for them and geetar for the FFs. Strange. Average music, average band.And a couple of new ones;
Supergroove; How the hell these talentless wonders ever got anywhere I'll never know. A kind of third rate Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is bad enough because RHCPs themselves are second rate.
Pink Floyd; as soon as Syd Barrett went doolaley and moved back in with mum their music followed suit (Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is brilliant, everything that followed is garbage). Dreadful, "pretend to be a psychedelic band still but really just a pop band" nonsense. Songs about rebellion (Brick In The Wall) while not having a rebellious bone left between them. Stadium rock nonsense that punk did its best to eliminate (and failed).

I had the misfortune to watch 15 mins of TOOL last year after a gobsmacking performance by Muse, people were lined up right to the back of Mount Smart and couldnt see them nor hear them due to the piss poor sound. And they were going on about how awesome they were.
Bored sh*tless, I suppose after seeing Muse, and the same happened the year before when Iggy blew The White Stripes off the headline act.

Basically f**ked off to get a good spot for the Violent Femmes

Woohoo!! Great call Jag.

Unfortunately I was suffering an internet outage last night otherwise I would have been all over this thread in a shot!

Where do I start? Oh yeah, I hate Kings of Leon.

And Pink Floyd. They are perhaps my most hated band ever. They just stand for so much that is wrong with the world.

Razorlight are awful.

Foo Fighters and Audioslave both very average and demonstrate the law of diminishing returns when compared to Nirvana, Soundgarden and RATM.
