Draft Local Approved Products ('Legal Highs') policy in Lower Hutt.

Hutt City Council is proposing it allow the sale of psychoactive substances in the CBD and Jackson Street Petone.

Council wants feedback from the community on this proposal and also on how many outlets should be permitted in these two locations.

IMHO.   Sell them everywhere that alcohol or tobacco are on sale.

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

This is a good thing - having a policy allows the Council to control the sale of such substances in its region. No policy means the default Act provisions (quite permissive) apply.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Ta. More reading to be done.

___________
More reading...

"The Psychoactive Substances Act came into effect in July 2013. The purpose of the Act is to regulate the availability of psychoactive substances (i.e. legal high’s) in N.Z. to protect the health of, and minimise harm to, individuals who use these substances.
The Act gives local authorities the discretion to establish a “local approved products policy” (LAPP). A LAPP can establish restrictions around the location of premises from which approved products (or ‘legal highs’) may be sold. The Act does not allow Councils to create a LAPP that would result in an outright ban across the city."
The public are invited to make submissions to the Hutt City Council regarding the nature of LAPP restrictions for Hutt City.

You can get the real thing at ghe Empire, why buy a substitution? Better to stay away from drugs anyway.

Nothing wrong with drugs really. Alcohol, shit even mcdonalds kills more people. And they say only 5% of users are problematic ..

Nothing wrong with drugs? I'm sorry, but I believe this to be untrue. I also believe that alcohol is the most harmfuland abused drug there is.

However, I also believe that the legal kind are in some way worse than the illegal kind of drugs. Seems so much weird synthesised stuff goes into party pills and the like.

Just my opinion.

P.s- I believe

I think your point is about what kills more people? You could be right, I don't know the stats.

From my experience and what I have seen, drugs do a real job on people. Familes ruined, huge debt, injuries (in a lot of cases not the person who is on drugs, but those around them) etc.

I am not sure why you lol'd at my opinion. You will note that I agreed that alcohol is one of, if not the worst, drugs in existence.
