No doubt they expected "Sweet Jane", and got jazz noodling instead.

Cop it sweet.

He's always been a nasty bloke, part of his Delmore/Warhol training I guess. However he still tries different stuff which if you look at his peers, (stones, MC5, Iggy, even Bowie to a lesser extent etc), they have never managed to keep transforming (geddit?)

So Lou even though you probably hate us for loving "Sweet Jane" and "Romeo had Juliet" we still love you.

he had to do an 'apology' tour here in the '70s after his behavior on the Rock & Roll Animal (?) tour.

his 'New York' record is very good IMO
gritty and topical it really was a record for its time.
I like the 2 guitars mixed either side too and it's conception as a single sitting album

I saw him live from a box at the Royal Albert Hall about 10 years ago.  Does that make me cool?

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

I saw the VU in London. Great show 3 hours long, the only song I recall them not playing was "What Goes on".  Put a lot of other bands to shame with thier stamina I thought. I recall seeing a few well known acts around that time where you were lucky to get an hour from their sets.
