Anyone had these? It's where you realise you are dreaming, and can do what the f**k you want. I've had two that I can remember, they are rad. Reading a book to help me learn to have them at will, apparently it's possible.

My flatmate had one about 2 months ago and he told us what happened etc. Before this I didn't even know there was a term for it. The very next night I had one which was unreal considering I hadn't had one in months even years. In mine I was card counting in vegas and the FBI/CIA caught on and I evaded them climbing up skyrise roof tops to get to a helicopter which took me across the boarder. The whole time I was in control and I remember almost all of it vividly. When I woke up I was sweating and felt like i'd been for a ten k run. Haven't had one since but I hope there is a next one. Whats the book called Cosimo?

I can't have them at will, but I have them frequently. I only found out recently that not everyone does. Unfortunately I tend to wake up before they get good!

Have you tried the spinning technique? It worked for me once - you spin around as fast as you can in your dream when you feel it slipping away, and it keeps the dream going. Very cool.

I've had them before but a long time ago.  If you know that you're dreaming does it stop?

I remember controlling the ones I had but don't recall if mentally I was alert and knew I was dreaming.

No, that's the point, once you know you are dreaming you are able to control the dream and keep it going, although only for as long as the dream cycle lasts (usually around 10 - 20 minutes). But sometimes it hard to tell if you are actually controlling the dream, or thinking you are controlling it. (Like, I've had dreams where I wake up in the dream, but didn't wake up in reality - I was dreaming about dreaming).

You are supposed to look out for 'dreamsigns', such as writing changing or not having a reflection or something. It's funny, cos you can be having the weirdest dream but it feels completely normal.

Is this like sleep paralysis?

Three for me, and two for them.

Maybe - I had a really short paralysis the other day, I was lying on the ground my dream and I woke up but was still 'lying' there in reality, unable to move. It only lasted for a few seconds though.

I have lucid dreams often, not sure how they're accomplished or why they happen, but usually once a week..

I had one on Wednesday night - it was awful and I couldn't do anything to stop it.  Most of the other people in my dream got up and walked out just before I woke up, but I couldn't move.  I had to stay until the end.

Sadly it wasn't a wet one either.

Ah. I mentioned I had one of these in the Sleep Paralysis thread. This is what I've experienced. One or two times maximum! Very cool.

Trouble with those ones is that you're not in control.

Most of mine I get to fly in, which let's face it is f**ken cool. It is a shame we can't fly in reality, to be honest. Although to be fair I usually start flying because some bastard is trying to kill me. Typical.

The worst dream I ever had was I thought I woke up and saw someone come into my room, lean over my bed and strangle me. Except I didn't wake up and it was a dream. However it felt like I was awake but I couldn't move, I couldn't scream, I was paralysed. I really thought I was going to be murdered and there was nothing I could do. I think they call them night terrors. Anyone else had them? I saw a doco on them not long after I had my first - people described something very similar to the one I had. Unbelieveably freaky. I've had them since, however without the strangling or presence of an intruder, just the terror of paralyse.

I once ate four boss burgers in one sitting and I got Mcnightterrors from it. To much meat. One of the worst sleeps I've ever had.

Im not sure if they are lucid dreams but ive been having very strange and vivid dreams.

Culminating in one big dream which makes me amazed at how great the mind is.

I learnt a while ago that when you are in a certain phase of sleep, your mind can take in its surroundings or things happening to you and fitting that into your dream.

One example is that say, if you were sleeping in a bed with your partner. If they bump you or touch you in some way (Not sexually) your mind will create a dream with a situation in which you get touched in that place.

My dream for example.
Thursday morning I was dreaming and I was walking through town near a round about. When a car full of mongrel mob came around it popping off rounds into the crowd. I got hit twice in the right thigh and ran to a near by bottle shop where they followed me and shot me in the chest. Killing/ Waking me up.

When I got up and had a shower. I discovered that I had been bitten my mosquitos during the night because I left my window open. I had three bites. Two on my right thigh, and one on my chest.
So in the space of probably seconds when I was bitten, my mind had created a dream that felt to me at the time like it went for hours.

Amazing.

I just watched a movie called 'awake' (with Jessica Alba!!)....it's when a person is awake whilst undergoing surgery. Very creepy but I imagine it's kind of similar.

In the past two weeks I have been trying to have a Lucid
dream, and succeeded twice but I wasn't in control, until
the other night, and what a mind blowing experience.

I have been doing my RC during the day and then came the dream,
now in the dream I didn't perform a RC check, but this is what
happened.

I was walking through a concert hall and these men were after me
because I helped out Jack Bauer, all of a sudden, I thought hey
'Im dreaming, so I took a deep breath and said to myself, "I want
to go to a theme park"

And there I was... so I started walking and thought I want to go
on a water slide, and there I was at the top of this huge
water slide, (all the time I knew I was dreaming) I went
down the slide and thought, perhaps I can dream about having
a steak sandwich, and there I was sitting at a table.

Though everytime I went to order, I would be interrupted, I
was trying to think what can I do to stop being interrupted, does
my subconscious want to stop me from eating a steak sandwich?

I woke up, to my dog barking. I thought the dream was pretty cool
myself!

Hope I have some more.
