I need somemore music. And I can't stand the mainstream crap on the radios.

What are your favourites and what do you recommend?

Ladyhawke has a number of good songs.

Michael Franti is excellent to listen to in the summer. Nice relaxing upbeat music.

Three for me, and two for them.

Definitely give this a listen.

I've been cranking a lot of Wild Nothing, Twin Shadow, Girls, Warpaint, Yeasayer, Foals, Beach House, Secret Knives, Forest Swords, Male Bonding, Exploding Hearts, Dungen and Darkstar recently.

A rather varied ensemble in terms of genre, but if you're really fed up with what you're listening to give a few of them a youtube or something.

If everyone else on this thread is allowed to make up bands I don't see why I can't.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Avoid  the White Stripes if you're really into kiwi music and go with NZ's Hasselhof Experiment or The Rock and Roll Machine instead.

I just bought

The Tutts - Get In The Club on iTunes.

They had that song "K" and "All over town".

The rest of their album is very good and different to those two songs. And its Kiwi Music.

He's still making music? Heard somewhere that he was very ill for a while. A friend of mine who used to flat with him said they could never get into the toilet as he used to lock himself in there to practice guitar.

"I'm in love with the Mona Lisa". Great song. Glad you reminded me about him - must seek out his newer stuff.

Yeah, they're good. I love they way we adopt them as a NZ band though. Much like Crowded House. I am Giant have 2 kiwi's and 2 poms and base themselves in the UK.
