Unlucky Fried Kitten  A garage band from Maidstone in England.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Smithy's post has got me thinking. I've got a pretty varied sort of musical collection. Includes two the band's he mentioned. One artist I keep going back to, especaiily when I am in a "need new music... " mood, is  Fela Kuti. Probably my favourite track is Colonial Mentality.
Not sure what it is that brings me back each time but Fela works.

If you're going to start listening to Lou Reed, grab yerself Transformer to begin with. Great album, with Walk On The Wildside and Andy's Chest to name only two classics of many.
Other albums you simply must hear;
The Jam, All Mod Cons. The best of their six studio albums, closely followed by Sound Affects.
Radio 4, The Stealing Of A Nation. Their best so far, socially aware NY post-punk w/ disco beat
Futureheads, News And Tributes. Better than their first, geat post-punk pop from Newcastle.
Sisters Of Mercy, First and Last and Always. Huge bass before it was fashionable, great voice.
The Beatles, Revolver. Innovative, groundbreaking, these boys are gonna be huge.

Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

How did nobody mention David Bowie?

Pretty much anything he did in the 70s is good, other decades not so much, though there are exceptions ...

and the Verve too.
