I know the bumble bee has the right colours for being a Wellington sporting team's mascot but I hope the Phoenix (or YF for that matter) don't ever follow rugby's lead and have a fat bumble bee as our mascot.

Mexican Wave... no relevance to football ?

Note : I don't condone them, but they were partly a football phenomenon

Yeah, but weren't the Americans responsible for that particular abomination?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Didn't it come to public attention during the World Cup in the States? Sadly, it is football related.

I agree with, 'No drums and no mexican waves', plus I don't like capers (or whatever those guys with loud hailers are called) but there is the odd good footie mascot out there.

Stoke have the Pottermus, he don't bother spending his time dancing and trying to work the crowd up, he just trys to beat-up and shag the opposition's mascot.

The jets rocket man is a discrace. If we just had an inflatable Nix supporter passed out in a puddle of his own vomit I would enjoy that.  it probably would create a great image for us but it would certainly give me a laugh going into the stadium and seeing that everytime on the pitch.

I'm sure we could probably find a few real fans who'd volunteer for the job

I suppose we could round a few up after the games..

The man I nominate to be our mascot is the guy we saw after the Nix v. Galaxy game who was standing outside in his Tighty Whities in a daze. Only because our friends at Red Badge came up and said

"Whats happened here? Where are your clothes?"

to wich he replied

"...I dont know"

His mis fortune made my day.

my recollection is first seeing the Mexican Wave at the 1970 World Cup - Mexico (the one where Bobby Moore got arrested for shoplifiting and Gordon Banks made that great save against Pele)
