anyone else seen it? i saw it on friday night, great movie. stallone is an underrated actor i reckon, pulls of the john rambo character pretty well.
the violence was quite extreme, saving private ryan type graphic-ness.
all in all though a good tribute to rambo, i would recommend to any action movie fans.

has had mixed reviews spefically lacking any meaningfull storyline and excessive violence. Guess you have to take it for what it is though.

Does Sly speak in this one? If so, does he still speak incoherently?
Three for me, and two for them.

he has a few lines. storyline is ok.. takes some missionaries up the river from thailand into burma, they get captured. he then has to ferry a group of mercenaries up the river again, joins up with said mercenaries to try rescue the hostages. i think the inflated death numbers are because the burmese army murder a heap of villlagers..
other than that it's a good action movie with a passable storyline and good action sequences etc, as long as you don't take it too seriously and expect an intellectually riveting and stimluating movie you won't be too dissappointed.

also a bit harsh on the excessive violence front when a movie like saving private ryan didn't cop too much grief for similar amounts.

If you want to watch some mindless violent escapism, then this is really cool. If you want to watch an indepth oscar winning type flick, this is not your cup of tea. I enjoyed all the Rambo flicks, the last three being pure over the top escapism. The first flick however had an awesome story and was done really well in that respect.
Rambo 5 has been given approval to go ahead. The monetary performance of 4 encouraged the producers to do 5. It's apparently going to be set in the USA. I'd like to see him back there meeting up with the charactors of the first one again - for old times sake!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

hardly comparing apples wth apples.
Saving private ryan depicts the reality of war.
Rambo is killing for killing sake.

comparing the violence of a gun fight scene with the violence of a gun fight scene is a pretty even comparison. but just because it's "rambo" it gets the bagged. thanks for illustrating my point.
