Can sense cricket coming closer in the next year and a bit. 1 v 8 will now be much more even. Bangladesh will still get whipped by everyone though.

235/9 off 50. Peter Fulton looks to be finally back in form. Made 75.

What the f**k is that Broom guy doing there and other old players. 'A' teams should be for blooding new talent (Harry Boam, Corey Anderson) into higher grade cricket.

Oh and, any reason why they are playing in Hyderabad. This an All Black like venture with the Hong Kong thing or are they actually in a tournament.

Boam? this is a joke right? he has only just been picked for the Wellington side he hasn't even had the opportunity to be blooded into NZ domestic cricket let alone being thrown into the NZ "A" side.

NZ "A" should be the best 11 players who aren't in the first team. Age shouldn't be a factor. Skill and Form only.

Wow! Australia don't have much depth.

Maybe not Boam (he goes to my school so a bit bias!) but Anderson and Williamson deserve a crack. Though on further research I see we have and emerging players side. Which would be just right for those guys, I take back my comments!

Just another point, Bevan Griggs is 30 and still an emerging player?!?!

Yeah my next question was going to be did you go to the same school as him. I would avoid sticking these young guys like Anderson and Williamson in as they have had limited experience in NZ domestic cricket with limited success. We need to avoid comparing there progress with a guy like Southee who is an incredible talent and was very successful in his first domestic season as well as having a huge age grade WC.

Griggs has never been a very good player, my only guess is that they wanted an experienced head in the side as this is all that he would provide unless there aren't any emerging keepers.

NZ A is about the second best team in the country no matter how old they are. Looked like Rhys Young of Auckland was the keeper today so i don't know why you are talking about Griggs. I am hearing very good things about Anderson and Williamson but they haven't even had a season of first class cricket, Southee did and was probably more of a freak than these two are. Thats a pretty good result, the depth in Australian cricket, especially in the bowling hardly has me shaking anymore

Griggs was the keeper on the emerging players tour of Australia earlier. I was just pointing out that he is 30ish and seems to be taking a long time to emerge.

NZ Emerging Players
NZ A
Should be completely different teams in terms of their selection policies.
