Any thoughts on the teams chances this season? Seems to be an awesome squad on paper.

2 from 2 in preason so far without the injured Kirk Penney.

I'm looking forward to the season ahead. I don't really like basketball much, but I like seeing Kiwi teams showing Aussies up.

I haven't kept up - have they signed anyone worth knowing about?

I think so. Carlos Powell was absolute class. Best in the league last year in my opinion.

They've signed Kirk Penney who was in the states sniffing around for a professional contract and Phil Jones has returned home too.

Two US imports - Rick Rickert and Wayne Turner. Turner won 2 NCAA titles with Kentucky and played a few seasons ago for the Celtics (has also played for Harlem Globetrotters). Rickert has a little bit of NBA experience with Minnesota and Detroit.

In top of that Tony Ronaldson - the 'winningest' player in ANBL history

And yes, Carlos has gone dammit.

This could be a breakthrough year. Top four finish in sight hopefully.

Last year it was achievable - Im not a basketball follower but I was almost tempted to attend a game or two.

Oh nice Tony Ronaldson - Breaker's always needed a big dude who could actually play big - Pero hangs around the perimeter way too much for a dude his size, Pepper couldn't bear the interior on his own.
The imports sound OK, time will only tell as to whether they can measure up to last season's offerings...
