Olympics football tournament.

At lunchtime I heard two people talking about the Olympics and football. One was massively critical (major rant) of football getting involved with it. The other a little more patient.
I enjoyed Brockie making that Chinese stadium so quiet but I confess I am not an Olympics football fan...

Why isn't there an option for "I think the olympics in general are sh*t"?  At least football is an entertaining spectator sport, that and gymnastics are about the only things I watch at the Olympics. I can't stand the faux global brotherhood crap people spout at Olympics time, or the way people care about sports which they would never otherwise pay any mind to. For instance, who would give a sh*t about women's shotput if we didsn't have the best in the world at it? Ditto rowing and triathlon etc etc.

I enjoy watching football so I watch football - and the Olympics are usually entertaining because they are U23 so results are less predictable than the WC. Football is cash cow for the Olympics precisely for these reasons. People who think it shouldn't be at the Olympics should try to tell that to the IOC's accountants!

May in fact head along to some NZ football games this year so that should be pretty good.

I absolutely love the Olympics.
