There was a dumb post here from a certain user, which I've hidden.

Please think before you post.

Lol what? Why? It seems you're the only one who has a problem with me. You scared she's gonna sue YF for all the hundreds it's worth or something?

Aware me.

I'll get banned. Again.

You compared her to Ben Lummis. LG. Ben Lummis.

I don't care if you don't like her music but to compare the kid to Ben Lummis shows a level of intelligence that is quite simply stunning.

No, I didn't compare to him, I compared her situation to what happened to him. Young guy that got success and faded out of site. Another one who missed the point.

Why even bring that up though? She is quite clearly successful now. Why even try and tarnish that by saying she has now set high expectations and probably can't meet them? First of all, isn't setting a high bar a good thing? Secondly, who says she won't meet them? She may or she may not, but a Grammy win is a pretty good indicator that she is the real deal. It is on that point that your comparison with Ben lummis falls over, you're comparing two completely different universes of achievement. Absolutely nothing suggests that because Ben lummis faded from the limelight that lorde will too.

At the end of the day, She doesn't really need to prove anything else to be honest. She already has a Grammy win, which is something many artists aspire to, and she has achieved at the age of 17. Good for her.

Her music isn't my sort of thing either, but you have to appreciate the achievement surely.

Its like if the all whites got up and won the football World Cup and your reaction being "hmm they've set a pretty high standard now, they probably won't do it again...because Eastbourne FC won capital 5 in Wellington in 1980, but they've faded since then"

I think we may need to define 'making it'.

A. Ella made it.

B. Ben never did.

Fuck this stupid game

Pretty sure the last headline Ben Lummis ever made was when he beat up his missus

A marauding left wing back that creates havoc in the opposition's defence with penetrating overlapping runs down the left flank, but then creates a gap for a counter attack should she turn over possesion.

An 'unattached' Kiwi footballer who gets selected to play for the All Whites.

Well you see, my scenario is clearly not going to happen as at no point in her career has she shown any of those attributes.

However, your scenario...

Be good if she was to play her music for the All Whites - and supporters. Bumper crowd guaranteed.
