Had a good illustration of where I grew up (Naenae) and where I now reside (Petone) over the weekend...
My car got broken into on Friday night whilst I was playing away... discovered the beast on Sat morning with the door ajar - the contents of my g/box and console bin thingee on my front seat and some CD's and my sunnies goneski. The CD player was intact as they couldn't find the detachable face (that was in my bedroom - being all detached lol). No other damage... no broken windows, wrecked locks, ignition, nothing... I lose a good pair of sunnies ($200 worth) and a dozen CD's... barely worth my $300 insurance excess...
When I was in Naenae a few (10-11) years back, my g/f's car got nicked, taken for a ride, trashed, a 4ltr oil pack was emptied in the back seat, stereo gone, seats f**ked, spare wheel taken, and car driven over a berm and written off ($8k damage to a $7k car). Car gone for 2 days, found/recovered in Taita, insurance paid out 8 days later - everybody happy (she wanted a new car anyway).
So... who needs to lift their game???
