Can anyone confirm 100% what the story is this weekend?

Tomorrow - are any pubs open? Even those near the stadium before and after the rugby?

Saturday - Business as usual?

Sunday?

Monday?

All of them?

I'll play it by ear tomorrow I suppose, but just not sure what happens. Can't actually recall 2 years ago that well, and last Easter I was in Queenstown where most places were open anyway with it being a tourist destination exempt from daft licencing laws.

Can call the few that are close to the stadium for the rugby.

I can't remember what the hours were in previous years.

According to Wellingtonista:

  • Leuven is "open every day over Easter". They get away with it because they are a restaurant.
  • The Malthouse is open Saturday and Monday and surcharge free all the way. They'll be closing at midnight on Thursday and the Saturday, however.
  • The Southern Cross will be open "for dining only" all weekend. Which means they will put cutlery on the tables and you can drink as usual.

Black Harp is open Friday and Sunday, pretty sure the easter trading laws mean you can only get a drink with a meal though.

The Featherston is closed Friday and Sunday, open on Monday

So, how stringent are these places on a 'meal'?

Bowl of chips between 5 people?

All these currently active and busy YF off topic threads are the denouement of Wgtn City Council's stringent alcohol closing policy of pubs/bars not being able to be open past midnight tonight
