For people who haven't seen it(and I am not sure if it has been mentioned on here), Peep Show is quality and well worth downloading (legally, obviously) or buying the box sets for.

Just watched the frisbee in the park scene on Youtube Wongo2010-09-28 07:50:25

Nice item on TV3 nightline just now about a Kosta Rican fisherman and his crocodile chum (he had a pet dog but the croc ate it).

The subway fred got me on to Mrs Merton (ooh err).

Here's a nice one featuring Jimmy Hill.

(Does anyone remember seeing a football match - not sure if it was English or and International - and there was a big sign with the words: "I hate Jimmy Hill. He's a p@@f"?)

It's a Scotland supporters song:

"We hate Jimmy Hil, he's a poof, he's a poof!"

There was a website that had the phrase translated into about 100 languages

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Has anyone been watching NZ Top Model? I haven't watched a lot of this series (did watch quite a bit of last season) but find it hilarious.
Just wondering cause I watched the 2nd to last episode on C4 last night, and decided that I don't want anyone to win. Talent pool is thin this time round!

Yeah I agree. Hope it's not Elsa though. Classic cry on demand girl (though I have seen a few of them as well).

Social calendar dilemma:

8:30-10:30 Prime: Sharpe (guns and bodices)
8:50 - 9:30 C4: Balls of Steel (candid camera in the new millenium)
9:30 - 10:30: TV1: Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow

10:30: Rachel Smalley

T-Box or MySky would help alleviate your viewing conundrum, or it may frustrate you, as my T-box did last week by missing the final minute of Shameless, just as Frank was launching into one of his diatribes about life

This from xtra:

8:30pm - 10:35pm

Sharpe and his new commanding officer are sent to capture a castle when news comes of locals who will rise against Bonaparte. However, he finds himself distracted thinking about his gravely ill wife.

Doesn't say the name of the episode but last week was Sharpe's Regiment where he goes back to blighty to find out where his replacements have gone to.  He get's engaged in the process.

Just found out on Wikipedia that Shooting Stars had a new series from 2008-2010.

Anyone seen it and is it any good (there is no George Dawes apparently so that's quite a downer)?

Want to see when TV3 are showing 'An Idiot Abroad'. I have watched all the additional content off itunes waiting to see the actual program, plus I've been listening to Ricky, Karl and Steve for years on the Ricky Gervas Show. Which I want to see what they've done with the audio and created a cartoon.

Karl Pilkington is a genius and Ricky Gervais has stolen heaps of his material.

Thanks. Thought it would be quite hard to recreate the feel of the first series.

No George Dawes and Mark Lamarr - big gaps!

I doubt Matt Lucas would have the time to do George Dawes anymore but would be funny if he did.

Speaking of Matt Lucas, hopefully we don't have to wait long for his and David Walliams new show "Come fly with me" They showed bits of it on Graeme Norton Show a few weeks ago. Looks brilliant.

Have you watched Generation Kill? Same writers as Wired. GK is quality viewing. I've not seen anything of Wired, brief run-down please?

thanks for the tip
the cop show is the Wire
not Wired.

there is 5 series of the Wire, the stories or angles inter-connect

I suppose it is Drama but I reckon at least half of it is real life.
it is not a children show, pretty rough
sometimes it seems cynical
but other times it is pretty funny

there are some Cops but it is more than an investigation, maybe more an expose of political influence, management negligence, the corruption inherent in capitalism and general badassedness.

it also has drugs, profanity, Steve Earl, and an amazing scene involving the purchase of a nail gun which might be the most out there piece of TV I have seen in ages

no I not look at GK
it'll have to wait until general anger at US invasion has ceased.
currently I need no stories on that , just those in charge tried and incarcerated.
I will check it out for sure, ignore my bluster.

Watched the last of a doc on Prime last night called The Thriller In Manila, fight between Ali & Joe Fraser, which Fraser won. But by all accounts, Ali was a total smart-ass t**ser & sore loser!! I knew he was cocky. Ali called Fraser an Uncle Tom (didnt catch why), which is the biggest insult a black man can give to another. The morning after the bout, Ali went round to Frasers hotel & shouted obscenities at Fraser from the street & fired a hand gun up at his hotel room!! Throughout the doc Ali kept on claiming that I am the greatest boxer the world has ever seen! This has changed my opinion of Ali now.Wongo2011-02-08 16:03:07
