Livesport Radio - station closing after 7 years on air.  Sad really, was nice to have an alternative to radio sport in the mornings.

Just seeing reports that Richie Benaud has passed away. A great commentator, amplified by the fact that Aussie cricket commentary has gone to the dogs since he left. RIP Richie 2 for 22

RIP. The voice of the game.

His reply to a 16 year old's letter says it all about the man. A man of the people, an absolute legend. RIP Richie.

Three for me, and two for them.

The 12th Man will be upset too. Although Ritchie was not a fan of the bad language, Billy Birmingham had his voice down pat. Struth, it's  that bloody Max Walker.

As good a commentator as he was, he was also a very good cricketer.

RIP

Absolutely. Was a proper attacking batsman and a pressure bowler relying more on variations and bounce than spin (kind of like Vettori in that regard).

He also never lost a series as captain - including three Ashes series.

The 96.

Great to see so many traditional rivals stand up and be counted with LFC and in doing so, support the fight for justice.

Transcends football.

Erroll Brown of Hot Chocolate. RIP

A gent. We had a brief chat on Tottenham Ct Rd. once. I asked what he was doing musically. "Weddings, mate. Got to pay the taxman." But his grin was huge.

It was 1989, I remember that as I had to convince my parents that it wouldn't interfere with my study for my upcoming School C exams!

The only reason I went to that concert was to see BB King , also saw him the year before on his own at the Michael Fowler Center, he was brilliant both times

A lot of humour in BB's work.

What got me about the man was how easy he made playing the guitar look. He hard looked like he was making any effort but the sound that came out was a complex mix sometimes. Brilliant  guitarist. Clapton might have to do a remake for the funeral and do "While my Lucille gently weeps".

Plenty of tabs around showing how to play his thang but there is no way in hell you can get close to the touch or feel of the master.

End of

"Live at the Regal" is a good place to start for anyone interested
