Samsung Smart TV's

Our old-school LG TV (Cathode Ray Tube FTW!!!) just shuffled off this mortal coil so the time has now come to stop being such a tight arse and to join the rest of society in the goodness that is Flat Panel TV!

Am eyeing up a Samsung Smart TV and was wondering if anyone has one of these and if they would recommend them. The reason they interest me the most is that, as I understand it, they have the ability to stream internet wirelessly which in theory would allow me to stream Phoenix games this summer on TV rather than on the Laptop!

It might be difficult to stream matches on the t.v, it depends on the software and such which is on the t.v, some of the streaming media players might be weird and not be able to work properly or at all on a t.v, I tryed it on a mates one and it didn't quite work out.

I'd suggest getting an hdmi cable as well.. Or VGA to HDMI if your laptop is still from the dark ages as well.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Ended up buying one and have been suitably impressed thus far. Will be experimenting with it over the course of the next few weeks when the Premier League season kicks off to see whether it has reasonable streaming abilities. All indications are that it will be no worse than the laptop so thats a thumbs up already!

IS the quality any better than a laptop - assuming it is getting the same stream?  As Avezo says, hooking a laptop up to a flatscreen (HD) works well.

Have an older laptop that doesn't have HDMI to that won't happen.

Thinking that my bad experiences with match streaming over the past few seasons has had more to do with my laptop rather than anything else so am eager to see if I have better luck streaming via the TV!

Have also secured the use of my bosses iSky account login to utilise at any time!

Winning!

iSky + New TV make C-Diddy a very happy man indeed!
