A real Rotorua legend. Will miss his annual performance at the Lakeside concerts and how the media went to him to get a comment on everything to do with our fair city.

He leaves a tremendous legacy behind him.

A great Rotorua man, someone bopman and myself have had influencing us as we grew up in the lovely Rotovegas. He has a truly massive family, the tangi at Ohinemutu will be unprecedented I would imagine.

RIP Sir Howard.

I'm honestly not trying to take the mic here or make inappropriate jokes, but isn't he the 3rd famous celeb to die this year? Someone mentioned before about older celebs all getting worried but I guess we have a winner!

Dude was a legend either way...

He was my Uncle. You are right, it is a VERY large family. Rotovegas is going to be packed out big time. The Marae where the service is going to be held is the largest in the area and right on the lake shore.

I loved it when he tried to tell Adam Parore (sp) how he should pronounce his own name.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Would Val Doonegan get such tributes (or am I too late)?
