Bikes kind of died off in NZ during the nineties as most of the tracks were turned over to teracotta clay which is better for the cars. Crying shame as the country has a fantastic history and the world titles are now full of dirty Australians instead.
http://macgor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bikesboardIs your best bet for any answers on where they are still running. I assume they still have a following in Christchurch and probably out of the Avondale track in Auckland but it's collapsed in the last 20 years.
Ah that's a bit annoying.
My dad had me taking photos of that Ivan Mauger bike in the museum when I was down in Christchurch - quite a hero it seems.
I'm not a massive fan myself but I probably prefer it to the cars I reckon.
Will take a look at that link and see what I can find, cheers.
