Excellent. Which university? I am at Massey, doing the sports papers extramurally though as they are not offered at Wellington campus.

I have a degree in it from Vic if that's worth anything (and, incidentally, it's probably not...)
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Smithy - Agent to the stars... are there any jobs for a degree like that ?

No. Unless you like rugby and then there are approximately two.

People with Sports Mgmt degrees become Sports Administrators or work for Sparc.
There are almost no Player Agent jobs in this country because everyone already knows everyone else!

Unless Wellington Phoenix or New Zealand Football have opportunities, I will be going overseas.

I did Sport Management at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, nothing major though (NZQA Level 3, the same as 7th form). I'm hoping to do the one sports management paper they have here at Vic.
If you want work experience, check out with local sports clubs. I've done a bit with lacrosse and rugby, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to sort something out in football, clubs are almost always looking for help.

Play FM08. It's cheaper and if you suck at it it hasn't cost anything and you can always restart the game!

I majored in MGMT for my BCA at Vic. I did sport management papers there. It's all BS if you ask me. They simply take standard busniess models and apply them to sporting organisations. Same old clap trap that you see in the media about "winning formulas" and a "culture of success". One of the fundamental lacking elemtens in Sport management studies is an admission that $$$ = success (generally). While there are cases of under-dogs achieving, this kind of success is seldom long lived.
To be honest I'd recommend a science or engineering degree anyday.
But go ahead and study it if you like. At least you'll get to write about the Phoenix in your essays!

Lol - I did. I had to do a horrifically painful management paper for architecture last year where we had to blog about management. Writing about the Phoenix was probably the highlight of the paper.
