State of our environment.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

How many trees were harmed to make the paper that they printed this report on?

Very hypocritical...

Printed on totally chlorine free 100% recycled paper using vegetable inks.  (Source: Backpage of report.)

Yeah but the "recycled paper" didn't come from a recycled tree now did it?

Also, think of all the nasty things that goes into making the computers and printing machinery that were used in the production of the document. Not to mention the fact they probably had a courier deliver it in a fuel consuming van!

That's another somewhat  cynical reply.   Then again perhaps you are right, may even have have a point, but,  as I guess is more likely, you are just being defensive? Well?

More importantly, the response misunderstands the (admittedly contestable)concept of sustainability. Given that all and every action has an impact on the environment, it is a bit futile basing arguments in that way, otherwise the logical conclusion is that we should all turn off the lights and go to bed (and even then we'll be emitting CO2!). That would be highly problematic for a Phoenix home game, now, wouldn't it?

But if you conceptualise sustainability as the degreesby which we reduce our ecological footprint, then there is probably more room for manoevure, than C-Diddy's response. Shades rather than b&w, if you like.

Thus better to print on recycled, chlorine free etc. We kneed to sustain knowledge capacity building as well as
the environment.HarryHotspur2008-02-01 12:59:23

yeah it's not black and white, you don't have to either do nothing at all to help the environment or everything humanly possible...i mean you wouldn't just dump all your rubbish out on your neighbour's lawn would you C-Diddy?
I like tautologies because I like them.
