When did this paper become such trash? I remember a few years ago it was the Sunday News that was tabloid trash, and the SST was a reasonably (as newspapers go) measured broadsheet - at least in the news section.

But in the last couple of weeks, first the ludicrous 'oh my God they aren't strip searching people at a Super 14 game' stadium terrorism story, and then following it up with the absolute gutter trash attack on the North Shore City Mayor Williamson (who by reputation seems to be a bit of a knob) stalking him for 6 hours (by their own timing) and implying without any sort of proof that he drove drunk.

Sorry, but the SST became trash crap rubbish bollocks years ago. The ruination of it was when the Sunday Herald started up, and rather than hold the high ground, they got dickhead reporters straight out of the gutter who quote facebook and twitter as eye-witness accounts. I am stupider for having read it.

Pathetic. Not apathetic.

That timing sounds about right now that you mention it.

I became aware of how bollocks SST is on the weekend. You never really know how bad the media can be until you are directly involved and can say what you are reading is absolute bullsh*t. I feel sorry for anyone else who these guys humiliate with their arse paper of a rag.

Fuck this stupid game

It makes me sad when i see more and more reporters getting stories directly off of twitter. Its lazy and mostly incorrect. Tegal2010-03-31 00:00:02

What discourages me more is when you find out they have actually just printed word for word an issued press release. No reporting, fact checking or any other sort of journalism, just straight copy pasting of PR produced bullsh*t.
