Mate of mine asked me to post this:

PRIME TV.  What are you thinking?  We love The Crowd Goes Wild.

We eat dinner to it; we wind down after the news to it, we chuckle at the in-jokes and we even laugh at the regurgitated ones from the days Twitter banter.

But not any more. Because now youve wrenched it out of prime time viewing and shifted it to a variable slot after 10. In its place you are showing re-runs of a lame American comedy show.

You even sneaked it away, moving it for the Commonwealth Games and then not moving it back again, maybe hoping we wouldn't notice.

Much has been made over recent years about the lack of sports coverage on Free-to-air TV. It is confined to news bulletins, the Crowd Goes Wild, and its inferior imitator, that Skoda Show on Sunday afternoons. Yanking the best of those shows to late night viewing is just making it worse. Think of the children.

And how can you expect Mark Richardson to stay up that late night after night?

In other news, Home Improvement is rubbish.

So, following the enormous success of getting the FA Cup final to New Zealand screens earlier this year, we encourage you to sign this petition to get The Crowd Goes Wild back to its rightful slot of 7pm weeknights.

Signed.

CGW on after 10 is bullshit.

Three for me, and two for them.

Why is the Crowd Goes Wild no longer airing LIVE at 7pm on Prime TV?
In order to bring you the latest results and sports news from across the globe but more importantly from the key matches right here in New Zealand during the sport-filled summer months - Primes The Crowd Goes Wild has moved to a new time slot of 10.30pm. This later evening time slot allows the team to make sure youre totally up with the play throughout the week bringing you results as they happen delivered with their trademark unrivalled knowledge and unbridled opinions.

Exactly. Signed the petition. Do they think we all watch The walrus and John Campbell. CGW is brilliant. I even enjoyed looking forward to Mark Richardsons introduction to Champions League results with his favourite line "I hate Arsenal........"

Thats terrible reasoning. CGW is on weekdays. Sport is on weekends mostly, except American sports, which are done by the time CGW starts anyway.

I think it actually got better ratings in the 10pm slot during the commonwealth games so they decided to keep it there. At 7pm it has a lot of other prime time shows to compete against, and its just after the sport news.

I actually sent Mulligan a message on twitter once, offering some constructive criticism that his show used to be good at showing many different sports that the 6pm news didnt bother showing,as theyd just show rugby mostly. But then slowly CGW started showing more and more rugby etc,and became too similar to the 6pm sport news.

He didnt take it very well, think it came across badly (Football fan hating rugby),when in fact that isnt what i was saying at all.

I once sent Mark Richardson a whole bunch of Spurs jokes. Sadly he never got back to me.

Three for me, and two for them.

I'd rather it was on at 7:30pm so I didn't miss Shortland Street.

it's now going to be on at 6:30pm from the 17th of January. taking on tv1 and tv3 sports bulletins! I personally would have preferred CGW to be on at 7:30pm. But it's better than it was that's for sure!

As long as they have good football coverage I'll be watching CGW over 1 or 3 news.

Fuck this stupid game

Are they the sports bulletins that go a little something like this...

"An All Black blinked his eyes today and our camera's were there for this exciting moment in New Zealand sports history. Our reporter was there and asked Graham Henry and Steve Hansen just what they thought about it..."

All Black Coach Graham Henry wrote:

"It was a great blink. Richie and the lads have worked all season long on their blinking technique and their hard work and dedication is finally paying off"

[Quote=Steve "The Hut" Hansen]
"The media can just f*ck right off! We had these guys blinking 3 years ago and you didn't want to know about it then. All of a sudden we're back on top of the world and you all want to be part of the ride? Go f*ck yourselves!"

Problem with CGW is they've started to go that way now too. They even got melodie Robison who does serious rugby stories. It was such a big change that I toyed with the idea that it was forced on them by sky.

Hopefully they stick to their niche market of doing all other sports, like they did before their ratings dropped.Tegal2011-01-08 23:13:41

Well done to CGW for starting todays show with a story on the All Whites and then 2 other football stories instead of the rugby.  Well done.

As a side note Mark Richardson and Andrew Mulligan said they'd start calling it Football if they got a decent crowd in.

I just wish they'd made Richardson do the story on the North London derby. Would have been great.

Totally agree. He's a bit of a smarmy git when it comes to all things not cricket, but that's one of the things which makes the show so watchable

McOnie better be doing one tomorrow.  Sorry by Hayley and that Meghan chick don't do football stories justice.

I'd love to hear Richardson's thoughts on the 5-2 demolition.

I don't think Frank Bunce knows anything about football. Not exaggerating either, i mean he knows nothing. Haven't heard him mutter even one word when the football news is on.

Three for me, and two for them.

He did have that glazed over look on his face didn't he.  Mind you, I'm not sure if the others know much either.

The standard TV edit or the XL version with over 14mins of extra QI goodness?

For the A-E I have the standard versions, because they weren't making and XL versions. For seasons F I have about half standard and half XL, mainly because the XL editions can't be found anywhere. From G onwards I have 100% XL goodness.

Jealous! QI > any other Prime show near that timeslot.
