Good lesson in switching ammo there Munk.  Like that spotting skill too.

Those pinheads versing the Matilda.  That should never have happened...but the matty is such a fantastic T4 tank...

I finally got my Obj. 704 with the BL10.  Very nice tank but painfully slow to turn.  Hopefully the bigger engine will help with that

Watching Munk again.  World class.  Certainly beats the TDs charging to the front like noobs that I'm usually partnered with.

I've been avoiding playing WOT recently due to the horribly inept teams I've been in. So decide to give it a bash. In Hellcat Redshire south spawn I'm thinking "sweet". They hit the cap early and I'm pinned down but doing my bit near the cap and get one kill. The cap is red and at 75%. I'm thinking I'm keeping 3 enemy tanks busy if I try and reset I'm dead.

EVERYONE ELSE, I mean everyone else apart from one other tank with me is still hanging near the spawn point near the south. I'm saying "where is everyone"? "help" etc. The red team cap with one tank lost from each side with my team rushing the cap but leaving it way to late.

Unreal, you think it can't get worse but it does.

Better.
And nice to be appreciated too (though, largely finishing off my dead KV1-S dude's good work):

Played 1 game on Siggy last night, picked up a cheeky sniper in the T40 as an SMP ARL and I pretty much carried a Tier 6 win.  That's one game in 2.5 days.

Had some Team training between new clan and old clan.  Munk and I want to move back.  PBKAC was the first team but got smashed by the old 2nd team PBLAC in two battles.

Other than that happily grinding on hardnews.  Sold my Matilda IV and bought an Su-85.  Need to free XP a decent gun into it.and then onwards.

I sold my Russian Matilda too.  Kind of regret it.  But the results were just too disastrous.  Need rapid fire guns FTW.  What's with the new player profile HN?

This.

It's an interesting one.  I love one-shotting things or stripping something down to two hit points with one shot but the re-load time almost invariable burns me from there.

I've taken the bathtub back to the 17pdr for this reason even though I adore the noise and damage the 105 does.

It's actually my original account I forgot I had.  I aded a Tier V to it (The Matilda IV) for a chip for PBFG in Clan Wars but decided I'd use it for stress relief.  Have sold the Matilda.  Done the grind to the Su-85 so it still has a chip.

Actually renewed my faith in my own abilities alittle as I'm running the 85b at a 75% win rate solo.  Plan is to work my way up to a Tier X on it.  At the rate of the last two days I'll get there before I do on Siggy.

Had a classic example of this with the bathtub 105 today. Just missed a damaged tank by a whisker and got slotted due to insane reload time. My fault for snapping off the shot.

Still can't bring myself to sell it just yet or remount a different gun to the 105 as it's just not the same.

Much better this morning. Just be playing 3 TD's Hellcat, StuG and Jagdpanther. I've been playing ultra cautiously and it's paying off. Carried a Pearl River match by picking off the mostly lights, (got a ranger), with the Jadg.

Think I have 18 wins to 11 loses which recently has been good. Still some atrocious tactics.Lost another Redshire standard due to everyone being on the hill and getting flanked. Took two out on the flank but got overrun in the StuG.

Not buying any gold though until they work with Nvidia on the Nvidia GC CTD bug. Followed instructions in the ticket and still crashing reopened ticket on the 30 August and no reply back as they know they can't fix it.

I need  little gold on hardnews for crew movement and to free up some XP.

Need a pile to free up 160k XP on Siggy and move my top French crew on to the AC Mle 48.  If I do I'll have come close to free XPing the 46 which seems a shame but I have not been brave enough to get stuck into Tier VII solo lately.

I've found playing the Jagdpanther less stressful than playing the HC and StuG.

Wins 32

Loses17

Kills a bit low 46 but I survived more than usual.

I could have added another 5 wins but due to crap teams those 50-50 games we lost.

Not sure about Munk and HN. But myself, Vickmeist and Judging by his posts Stevo have had some shocking games.

Just from my observations:

Overall I think there has been a general improvement in the skills of the player base. Meaning even low level tiers are not always that easy to carry by yourself.

Tactically though public teams have been shocking. People just self-destruct regularly and are not applying basic common sense.

Skill wise myself I don't think I've changed or improved. Today I was less gung-ho/(the rush of blood as Stevo calls it) and that worked a lot better.

I was angry with the constant crashes to desktop and silly team errors and I got jaded with it.

I started downloading War Thunder which has good reviews but it's on pause at the mo Also played Shogun II as it's working for me now.

Overall the break has been good

What have you been doing instead?

Decided to return in the T18. Happy with the start considering I haven't played for months! Survived in a win with a team high 3 kills. We were in trouble when I advanced and got those 3 kills too.

I have been playing various games on steam. Mostly Football Manager. Any of you guys on steam?

Yeah just downloading War thunder now. Lol I can't remember the last time I actually went into a shop to  buy a game. Seems like a lifetime ago.

Just worked it out Warhammer Online back in 2009!

Ive been playing Rome 2, as the iceni -looking to branch into Europe after "unifying" the British Isles. Havent come across any bugs yet -im slowly getting to grips with the interface. Ive downloaded War-Thunder but only did the basic flight tutorials -will give it a look to see how their tank combat works.

I am enjoying it -Im just playing on normal mode until I get used to it -not sure if its dumbed down-its more likely I got stupider since Rome originally came out - I did get a surprise when i attacked my first town -it looked like it had only 4 units defending it -but it also had garrison troops and reinforcements from longships -the power meter showed I was well out numbered but by fighting the battle -not auto resolving -I was able to win easily enough -

The other one I'm tempted by is Mechwarrior online.  Used to play the original games (pre computer games) and the online looks good but I'm struggling to find enough ttime to tank currently let alone play something else.

The tier II battles this weekend could be good fun.

War Thunder.

2 games in 2 kills in first match, Top gun in my team.

A lot of fun in my lil Fury MK II obviously going the British route.

Interface similar to WOT. Game play is fast and maps so far nice. They must have a similar set up to MM for battles. There is nothing quite like taking down a plane in your sights.

Not as polished but it's early days for this game.

I'd check it out guys, not sure if it will replace WOT but is so far very good. 6.6 gig download.

So much stupid tonight.  Over 1k damage and three kills in battles where next best has 300.  Some where my 3 kills are the teams only kills.

Can't buy a fucking win.

Balanced out in the end.  Finished above 50%.  Two meltdowns with Munk but solo-pubbed back in the D.Max and the 85b a little.

Oddly if I did top damage I lost, if I potatoed I won.

Weekend specials interesting.  Mission rewards are good but I'd have to buy a Churchill I and a crew for it.

The tier 1 and 2 battles UK vs Germany battles should be fun as well

Played briefly this am after WT again some hysterical team tactics on offer. It's not just us though. So many frustrated players out there.

What's going on? People just forgetting the basics?

Not to point the finger but most of the comedy has been from heavies defending/attacking  completely unnecessary parts of the map.

El Halluf - Our two heavies sit in the middle of the northern spawn point, despite being asked to defend the northern corridor. They finally move into action when the northern corridor has been completely overrun - too late for us.

Malinovka - Encounter Map south spawn, I'm trying to talk the T1 - Heavy into helping out with B-0 brawling point. He's sat in the middle of nowhere F-9 asking for support against - nothing.

Honestly he typed "I need support at F-9", I said "Yeah the battle is really raging there" He didn't get the sarcasm.  95% of the fighting is with us getting twated in the A-D 0 line. He finally rolls up when it's 3 against 8 we die again.

Agreed Fortean, there seems to have been an influx of complete and utter retard players that have about as much tactical awareness and common sense as a drunken flea.  Sure makes it difficult to get a decent WR at the moment lol.  I seem to have been stuck at 55% for bloody months now!

Some teams are just too damned heavy to carry :)

I just don't understand how you can have a whole team so poor that I'm the only tank that can get a kill.

I'm a potato without Munk or Ed there so if I can get three kills and get 3x the damage others in tanks a tier higher than me can get they are a special sort of useless.

Well I bought it - the Excelsior.  Put my old and wise Churchill crew in it...

Started very badly - completely ignored/abandoned by my team on the vital hilly flank at Steppes.  Overrun by 6-7 enemies.

But then finished in a classic at Cliffs.

Only did something like 800 damage.  But it came down me and a TD, versing 2 enemy TDs, a Sherman, and a arty.  Was down to around 20% health.  Had issues though.  Took me 3 shots to pen and kill a 14% Sherman.  Was down to 2% after this.  Then something interesting happened.  Got locked in a struggle with a AT-2 at long-range.  Managed to get a lucky pen with a gold round (must have been through the cupola).  Many rounds later, I then changed to HE in desperation to finish him off.  First shot - success!  My mate then killed the other TD, then I killed the enemy arty who had tried to cap us.

Question: How did this HE round get him?  He was front on, at 8% health.  I read somewhere that a HE round that hits always does damage no matter what the enemy armour?  But I'm not too sure about this...advice Munk...

PS: Regarding the team uselessness...check their records after the game...then ask yourself this: what can you do if some mong who's played 10,000 battles, has a 42% WR, a kill rate of 1 every 4 games, was responsible for your team's key tier VI heavy?

This shouldn't happen/be allowed.
