Playing a bit of Plague Inc on my phone whilst trying to fix my comp. Basically you create a disease to wipe out the world.

Played it on easy mode and I dropped my bacterial disease "The Plops" in India to good effect.

It soon started to spread across Asia and the Africa and then the Middle East. Someone must have got off a plane in London as it started in North Europe as well.

Symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting and insanity, it's spread via the water and insects.

Fun game.

No it's for tablets, Ipads etc. I guess you could play it on an iphone but it would be hell to see. Vick downloaded it to have a look at looks quite good.

Essentially it's the same game though right?

Based on it, you have an inscreen joystick rather than using a mouse/keyboard.

WOT

What the hell is that half crescent reflection thing near the 27 in the pic and how the hell do you turn it off?

New game: 'Unity of Command'...sought of like War in the East - but minus the chrome, and thus playable.

The fateful Stalingrad campaign...first up: 2nd battle for Kharkov...

Air attacks aimed at the Russian tank divisions, gonna cut that salient...gonna get rid of that third Russian tank division that's crossed the Don...gotta give up some ground in the centre - for now...haunting music...looks good.

Reloads.  The AI is pretty good in this actually.  Hyper aggressive...gonna take longer than first thought...

New plan.

Gotta capture Olk and Kupy first...

Permalink Permalink

So is it worth the $20 on steam then? Might have to wait until the end of the month as I've spent my computer allowance this month.

Fought with smarts...some of the southern Germans are out of supply...but looking real good...

Lost about three divisions...did it in 6 turns..rather than 5...but it was still decisive...

Permalink Permalink

Next: Voronezh...

Target: 3 turn victory...no worse than 4.  Not gonna reinforce...save prestige points for later battles...

Permalink Permalink

Didn't capture Voronezh until the fifth turn - not the "decisive victory" I wanted...

Now for the main campaign: 'Case Blue"...

The vastness of Russia...will deploy (at least) the 11 Panzer...might need that SS elite too...parachute drops...this shit just got real.  Might have to read up on this one...

Err..it looks worse than it really is.  Rostov the key to the Caucasus has been taken - on time.

Permalink Permalink

Axis victory - on the 10th and last turn.  But no prestige gained...

Permalink Permalink

Now Stalingrad...Massive flank issues...panzers in a state...lack of reinforcements...

Permalink Permalink

2nd Kharkov and Voronezh, decisive.  Have 450 prestige (what you can spend on reinforcements).  Case Blue next.  Want a decisive here...

Permalink Permalink

Just practiced 'Case Blue'...the yellow box is especially crucial on the north bank of the Donets...its all about clearing the railway/supply line and then capturing the key to the Caucasus - Rostov - as quickly as possible...will do it proper tonight...

Case Blue got stuck...try the Russian campaign next...first up: Uranus...

Victory...in four turns...just a messily 10 prestige  achieved...

Permalink Permalink

So who won Uranus (messily)? You or the Russians?

Not a lot of WoT being played atm, a bit of Xcom and have picked up Mount and Blade Warband for a bit of a change of pace

They've made some tweaks to WT which have reduced match waiting time and improved gameplay. Very nice. I'm with you though I'm going through a bit of a slow down and have been playing Sins of a Solar Empire strategy game.

Also Hearthstone and the Might and Magic card games require a lot less dexterity and allow me to play a game and have my old cat in between me and the keyboard without effecting game play or the need for "mad skillz"

He's happy and I'm happy so all good.

I Have exactly the same problem. If our cat is feeling particularly needy (as she is right now while I type this) I tend to switch to strategy games. Civ 5 or some other turn based 4x game.

Jnr Jnr has been trying to get me to indulge in this devil's work called Steam.

Seems very tempting, but I am content with my PS2 FIFA.

My comeback into Wot, more specifically my win/loss rate has been absolutely atrocious.  Something like 1-5 lose ratio.  Turned to the KV-2 in desperation...good decision...somewhat...really fun tank if used properly...

Played WT as it's looking very neat and tidy at the mo but was dismayed that they had seemingly reduced the armor on all tanks as I killed 6 with my IS-1.

I then realized they hadn't changed anything it was just me being epic.
