It is well worth it, did it a fair few times when I was living up in Hamilton with Downey, its a great sport to watch end on, you see all the footwork and movement that looks a lot like they're just running in a straight line on the telly. Crowd gets into it nicely as well, nothing on aNix game but at least there's an atmosphere unlike yawn rugby.

I forgot about Lewis Brown, he would take my 4th bench spot for me.
So true and so very sad
i wouldnt mind seeing wade have a run at center but that to me is only an option if he cant find form at fullback
i really hope locke continues to improve at the rate he was since his debut, he is guna be a huge asset to us this year
big dell must have had the best try celebratoin for some time
Must agree, was like the old Warriors times with that guy with the dreads who use to celebrate.
Manu Vatuvei, 6. James Maloney, 7. Brett Seymour, 8. Sam Rapira, 9.
Aaron Heremaia, 10. Russell Packer, 11. Lewis Brown, 12. Ben Matulino,
13. Micheal Luck. (C)Bench- 14. Wade McKinnon, 15. Jeremy Latimore, 16. Jesse Royal, 17. Sione Lousi, 18. Joel Moon. (1 to be omitted).McKinnon off the bench? Gonna be interesting.
The lineup has been announced for Round 1. Certainly a few shocks in there.1. Lance Hohaia, 2. Kevin Locke, 3. Brent Tate, 4. Jerome Ropati, 5.
Is Steve Price gone or what?
................ + they are making the Warriors play in black in a game starting at 1pm on the Gold Coast, so they are gonna boil.

Price is out hurt. Warriors wont get within 10 of the Titans imo, their line up is stronger + they are making the Warriors play in black in a game starting at 1pm on the Gold Coast, so they are gonna boil.
Today's paper said they are expecting 23 degrees for kick off, so perhaps not too bad, and certainly not as bad as could have been...

So how many of the YF bois are into NRL? Maybe we could organise an off season outing for the YF? head up to a game in Dokland?
Some of the YF boys live up here and have got Warriors season tickets
Reasonable group of us.
This could be a very long season to be a Warriors fan I fear, I told my flatmates last night that if our starting back row for our first game was Luck, Mannering and Matulino I'm out for the season. Have we learnt nothing? BALL PLAYING BACK ROWER! Ukuma Tai has to be on the bench, but Im thinking Cleary will go with Lillyman. A bench that is likely to include, Packer and Lillyman does nothing to excite me. My starting team for game one would be:
McKinnon, Locke, Manu, Tate, Jerome, Moon, Seymour, Price, Henderson, Rapira, Mannering, Matulino, Luck. Bench: Hohaia, Tai, Packer and Elijah Taylor maybe, I could be persuaded on that 4th spot.
That team if it were to start would need some serious instructions to Mannering and Matulino that they are not to use themselves as battering rams and should be playing 2 and 3 off the ruck running at halfbacks. Like teams did to Stacy last season. I would also give Kevin Locke basically a roving commission and tell him to become our Billy Slater, he is that good and could be that effective if he can get a good combo going with Moon/Seymour.
Don't expect to see miracles from Tate, takes players a long time to come back from knee reconstructions. Look at Wade! I am expecting big things from Jerome and Manu though who after having a free off-season should be niggle free, fresh and ready to cause absolute chaos.
Will be interesting to see what they do with Johnson as he undoubtedly has talent but he could very easily be targeted and quickly lose confidence.
On a side note, how good is the Bunnies pack this year?! Burgess, Taylor, Asotasi, Luke and Im pretty sure im missing someone. Dead set quality!
To be fair, Matulino is a decent ball player. Problem with him is that Cleary used him as a prop and the ball playing skills, which he undoubtedly has, have been stifled. I've got loads of faith in Matulino, if he's played where he should be, he'll go good.

Another player that everyone seems to have written off is Jesse Royal. Granted he had a disappointing season last year, but given that his son was seriously ill and that he joined us fairly late, maybe that's not such a surprise. I spoke to him at the tail end of last season and he's raring to go in 2010. He's got a great offload and, if he cuts the silly penalties out of his game and gets some game time, he could do some damage.
Mara is another who will be pushing hard for a shot at hooker this season. If Hendo doesn't step up, Mara might get the nod. Jeremy Latimore is apparently training the house down at the moment, so he looks like he'll be another forward in contention for a slot.
No place for Lewi Brown in your team then, bopman?
As for the Bunnies, you left out Michael Crocker and Ben Lowe and, yes, that's a mean looking forward pack they'll have.
I forgot about Lewis Brown, he would take my 4th bench spot for me.
Interesting what you say about Royal, for me hes a bit to much of the same as what we already have. Our props are all guys who will dent the line instead of breaking the line, the guy I liked in that respect was Ervarn Tuiminvave.
Mara was the fijian looking chap from the 20s? I always liked the look of him in that grade, again just about the question of whether he can step up. Liki Liki the center is another one in that bracket.
Agree completely with what you say about Matulino and that was the point I was trying to make, Cleary has to let him play his natural game. It really is so unbelievably sad that the one guy who the Warriors are crying out for is Sonny Fai. Don't know much about Latimore to be honest, is he a back rower?
How long do people think they give McKinnon at Fullback before Locke gets a string of games back there (if Wado can't find some early season form)? Personally I would like to see Wade get a run at centre, he is the necessary skill set I think. Would have been perfect last year for mind with Tate out and the constant battles they had in finding a centre.
The warriors can pull victories out of nothing, I'm hoping with everyone writing them off this season they pull one out of the bag and everyone can eat their hats.

big willie mason at the cowboys this season
I think that they might do alright, But I think they lack depth. If they dont get to many injurys. Then who knows with the warriors
All Stars game tonight

That would be Henry Fa'afili
yea he was real good at his celebrations
i remember one where he pretended the ball was a coconut and he was chopping it up and drinking out of it
Pre season game this weekend.
Warriors V Manly at North Harbour Stadium. Will be there

Game finished at 16 all.
Pretty average game tbh.
Crowd was good 17,000.
Good fight between Tate and someone else.
And good old Russel Packer knocking Joe Galuvao out

So excited for the start of the league.
Only really one shock there and that would be James Maloney, I rate Hohaia over McKinnion. Ever since McKinnion had his knee injury he hasn't come back to his good old form. Hope to be proved wrong though.

Will be interesting to see the dynamic of the back row for me, that is where the success of this season will be determined. If Brown and Matulino can play wide on the fringes and run at guys we will go alright because we have quality outside backs, if Cleary uses them as 3rd and 4th props just running one out then we are in trouble. Same goes for Mannering when he comes back.
im loving our heritage jersey

Warriors season underway 18-12 to the warriors at half time.
Good start to the season. Cmon the WARRIORS
Oh...well. It looked promising for a little while.
Looked very promising. Not to bothered about this game though. The Titans are a very good team especially at home
I don't know, we looked pretty good but this is a common Warriors problem under this coach.
could be a long season I reckon.
