This is disgusting.  Gender segregation advocated by ultra orthodox Jewish men in Isreal.  It's not surprising that the West has not spoken up.  We're all to quick to critisize Islam when it comes to the treatment of muslim women.  when/if we critisize the Isreal/Jews we would be acused of being anti-semetic & Holocaust deniers.  I wouldn't be surprised if this post gets censored.

You can get them online Wongo, and print them out at home (or go into work and print them)

In all fairness - this is very much a small group, whose actions have resulted in strong condemnation from all levels of society - including government and Rabbis. Arrests have been made, rallies held...

The problem is the actions of extremists. They do not represent all of Judaism nor all of Israel (nor all haredi, for that matter). Just as the actions of radical Muslims do not represent all of Islam. Over-generalized, unfair criticism of ANY group based on the actions of a few is unfair.

As for the West not speaking up - I've seen the spitting incident mentioned several times by non-Israeli, non-Jewish sources. You're certainly not the first Kiwi I've seen decrying this.

I agree that the attempts to enforce haredi standards on non-haredi citizens are wrong. I also agree that Islam tends to be demonized too easily. However, by suggesting this Israel and/or Judaism isn't being criticized enough over this is both incorrect and itself a form of demonization.

That's not, of course, to say you're anti-semitic (a term that gets thrown around too much, albeit also dismissed too readily) or a holocaust denier (yeah... this only really gets used against holocaust deniers, rather than any alleged Judeophobe).

Just try to keep perspective of who are committing the wrongs here. Criticize the extremists, not the state that they live in.

Going to bed at around 4.30am because you don't have work the next morning and than getting asked 2 hours later if you can work, 2 hours of sleep before work is not fun.

Surgeons who tell you you will know in 10 working days whether your funding claim is approved by ACC, then ringing ACC who tell you it can take up to four weeks and they usually request info from your medical practitioners so can take longer!!!!

How about changing from CDMA to XT network on telecom on 17 December, getting $60 credit as part of a promotion and then not being put on the plan I wanted. Instead, put onto casual rates and finding out today that the $60 has been used up.
They assure me that I am now on the plan I selected and a new credit will be added to my phone. Time will tell.

Broken Glass everywhere, got a puncture today and saw 2 other people get one - It's been an awful 12 months for glass.

Also kiwi blokes being to proud to take up help.

I'm cycling along after just fixing my own flat tire, see this family out on bikes the boy with a mountain bike pushing it along not riding, dad is riding behind him.

"You alright mate?" I ask the lad
"flat tire" says he.

I slow down next to the Dad

"Want me to fix the flat?" I say

"No I think we will be alright" says Dad

FFS I can fix it in 5-10mins I have a spare inner tube and the tools to do it, I can fix a flat in my sleep and I look like a cyclist who can fix a flat in minutes with the type of bike I have and the gear I have.

Instead you've spoilt your ride today and the kid has got a 30-40 walk before you lot get home.
