Hodgson's guff.

Fans are turning away from the England set up because it does not matter how many starlets you play these guys are still going to be bench warmers for the big clubs that are only interested in filling the homegrown quota.

Roy if you actually admitted to this and tried to change this then England football supporters might give a fuck about the the national team.

But we don't  anymore. We chose EPL instead of the national team.

In what way is it Roy Hodgson's responsibility to stop players like Jack Rodwell or Scott Sinclair going to Manchester City?

If anything, his current squad has displayed that playing regularly at smaller clubs (Colbeck, Delph, Jones) will get you called up in place of those rotting away on the bench of the big clubs who are protecting their homegrown quotas (Micah Richards)

Because if anyone should know how bare the cupboard it is him. The reasons being is so fucking tedious. I just wish we had a manager who says what we all know and tries to fix it. i.e.. change how football is done back home.

That's not his job though. He's in charge of picking the best team available to win things.

oh ffs would it kill him to actually say it as it is?? He'd have a job for life if he did. Instead we had a crappy spin that we actually did ok at the world cup. No we didn't.

I am not sure what you want Hodgson to do here.  Announce a squad with a statement "it is pretty shit, isn't it?  Not my fault though as players are more concerned with wages at club sides than they are with international success".  It is true, we all know it is true, but he would get slaughtered if he actually said it.

There was actually an interview with Hodgson I read the other day where he was talking about his career and how it would be great if more young English players went and played overseas. I think it is an excellent (if obvious) point, but that is pretty much all he can do.

Was on the train back from the Turbos epic win against the Lions and caught a dude taking photos of the 14/15 year old girls opposite him. I told the girls, they made him had over the phone, deleted them. They then moved down the train and sent a security guy up. So congrats Manor Park, you have a creepy dude that takes pictures of young girls living there.

Is a creeper on the Porirua line too, not 100% where he actually is from as he gets off at Linden, Tawa & Redwood on different days, haven't seen him taking photos, but he goes and talks to the young girls and then when they move on goes to the next lot, pointed it out to guards, but they didn't do much...Is always on one of the just after school trains too.

40 minutes of shitty easy listening kiwi music (and counting) while on hold with Vodafone to get my cable tv sorted out. Even if I had liked "Nature's Best" in the first place all these years of it being the default hold music in NZ have totally conditioned me like Pavlov's dog. Now I hear Bic fucking Runga and I automatically get frustrated and angry because I associate it with interminable waits for incompetent customer service people to dick me around.

sigh

Jeff I hope I did not take your words the wrong way but it was my gut feeling. I've been in the big black hole in the past. Depression is what I am on about. Talk to us either on here in or in private. Even on an mb, when people realise you are being serious, all sorts of support and advice can help. Privately, not a problem either but talking about it does help. I hope this does not offend you but some of us do actually care about people on here.

I found the John Kirwin commercials helpful too.

Just wanted to say that you people are awesome. 90% of this forum is grown men bickering like children and that's all well and good, but the moment shit gets remotely real you're keen to go out of your way to help each other however you can. People are good, y'know?

Thanks team, reading this made my night, and I'm very glad to hear you're doing ok Jeff.

What do you sail Jeff?

I am currently helping to organise next year's Central Triangle Race (Wellington - Akaroa - Napier - Wellington). See here for details. Next time you're up in Wellington, if you want to go out for a hoon on the harbour let me know and I will organise something.

The first day is to let you know they are sick, thereafter they should go on sick leave. Unless its pollin related. Plenty of pine trees in Upper Hutt currently getting cut down and the pollin I  the air is playing crazy with asthma sufferers.

It gives a good take on human nature. We are on a football forum and we (well more me) act like children a lot but like most things in life, its just a football forum and even your own worst keyboard warrior enemy will pick you up.

Most things in life are football forums? No wonder nobody posts on the ACFC boards then, they must just be posting on all the other ones!

Lol.... welly harbour is my stomping ground !.

I have sailed dinghys and trailer sailers on and off for years. I took the plunge in April and bought my first keeler a Raven 26. Certainly not the rocket ship you seem to get around in but a good safe and solid cruiser to get around in. Sleeps five at a pinch although if at least 2 of them are not kids it would be very cozy!

Have spent winter doing a few odd jobs ready for a great summer ahead in the sounds!

Would love to do the central triangle at some stage although probably not on my Raven as I would need about 8 weeks to do it ! I follow the thread on crew.org which looks much better mow that dickhead as been banned!

Would be more than happy to take you out on the Harbour. I am of overseas in  oct to Europe and I am unlikely to get out before then but definitely when I get back in Nov. I can sail her by myself but always better with others on board.

She is a 40 year old 26 foot cruiser berthed at seaview that will never set any speed records but is very stable and a good boat to start on so  I will give you a shout when I get back
